I'll go the opposite :)
I swapped out a DVO air shock for a Cane Creek Kitsuma, faffed around for ages with different coils, progressive springs etc.
I just couldn't find a set-up that felt as good as the progressive ramp of air for the last 30% of the travel.
The first 30% of travel...
No hard and fast rules. But with a couple of choice upgrades I can't see anything 'new' in the market tempting me away from the '19 levo just yet.
I do love the looks, shininess, marketing etc of the new releases every year but with the prices the way that they are for current, good spec...
I've tried:
Bike Wash - Neither impressed or disappointed. It's "ok" - there are better value and performing ways to wash your bike. Any PH neautral (not to affect grease) car wash will do the same at better value.
Drive Train Wash - Disappointing. Really was not the spray and rinse...
Even though it feels weird and I do worry about it........ I clamp the dropper.
Sometimes you just have to have the leap of faith that if the pros are mostly doing it, it's OK.
CBA spending another £30 on piece of equipment to make me feel better about something else regarding the bike - "must...
I've barely ridden BPW in good weather despite having been probably 40+ times (had a year's pedal up pass once)
You'll be fine in the rain, particularly summer rains.
What you do get from BPW on a really wet day is covered in grit from the trails. It's a particular type of grit that works...
Just swill my endura D3O's around in a bucket with some water and washing liquid every now and again..... seems to be fine 3 years in.
The colour that the water goes is super filthy so sometimes I end up changing the water and then a final cold water rinse
it looks to be the same hardware as your levo - M8 x 20mm. So the kti above is not the right kit.
if you google M8x20mm shock mounting kit you'll find loads of good options. For avoidance of doubt and not trusting internet forums you can always give TFtuned or one of the specialized...
Thats a really interesting bushing for yoke based bikes @Dave_B . I've just been reading about it before the dhsign site went down.
How much rotation is available? Do you notice it at all with any flex/give feedback through the bike?
i'm torn on this one..... mainly driven by how much mountain biking is changing and growing.
For general peddaling around with mates, lapping the local hills or odd low mountain climbs and trails with me..... there is no way i would be buying my boy an eeeb. Pedalling and climbing is good...
There is the Stretch all along the South Wales Valleys that features so much riding - from the more official free trail centers like Cwmcarn & Afan to the paid bike parks and uplifts at Bike Park Wales and Dirt Farm.... then the "hidden" gems if you are happy to Strava Hunt of Wentwood, Risca...
Gutted for you mate.
I had 9 months off last year for a full rotator cuff tear and bruised nerve - sucks! especially at this time of year.
I did no bike training for 6 months, got chubby and bike unfit then caught up towards the end of shoulder rehab - not the way to do it! Wish I'd kept...
Is it me being sh1t or is it really hard to find results and data outside insta and YouTube?
Who is running the UCI results site?
Unfortunately the timing and weird paywall/timing/youtube/app makes it less desirable to buy the season, have a ride in the UK morning and get home to watch...
Reading this thread- sounds a bit like servicing your car (gifted the components are less complex).
Do it on 10k p/a religiously, do it a bit later with MOT....... do it when you remember/can be arsed/something is wrong.
No real right way..... but if you like tinkering with the bike and...
I broke the Scaphoid and Radius once - was about 3 - 4 months if I recall.
Best of luck with it - be as diligent as you can with the rehab.... that'll determine most when you are ready to ride
No strict timing as who counts the actual hours of riding?
I do the lowers & air can couple of times a year - gut feel on whether I've been hammering the bike or before a trip away. Sometimes it's just an excuse to have a beer tucked away in the garage tinkering around.
Full damper service...
I picked up some new wheels for the Levo this week.
There was a 25% off early summer sale at Hunt, plus they were giving a further £40 off voucher for signing up to the mailing list so I picked up the E_Enduro Wides for £304 vs the usual £449
37mm rim, steel hub. These should provide a...
I moved from a pike 150mm on my '19 expert to a 160mm lyrik ultimate and its been a very worthwhile swap.
I don't usually find upgrades "life changing", but this has been a noticeable difference that I wish I had done years ago. (I usually only change stuff when I break the incumbent...
