2020 SX , was hearing an awful noise that sounded like the battery was flopping around in the frame.
Opened it up on the trail , nothing all secure .
Noise endured and got worse , stopped again and started checking all the fixings on shock mount , headset still couldn't find the source.
Then I...
Have the 2020 SX , it does what advertised a very capable ebike soaks up big hits rock gardens and peddles well gets lots of admiring looks.
Had some niggles but mostly from a poor assembly , replaced the across headset not to my liking all in all a great bike.
Oh and the hanger is sturdy unlike...
Dirtnvert , I had a creak that was doing my head in , thought headset due to issues then battery housing looked everywhere.
Turned out it was the rear shock spring collar .
BEAST , Mono level : expert .
how is the geo though ? Extra 20 mm would lift the front , wondering how it feels on landing jumps .
Does it want to wander off line a bit .Does the front want to come up when pushing hard on up hill peddles ?
Looks like it belongs .
Removed mine from my 2020 SX , the Acros from day one would come loose every ride POS ! returned it many times under warranty until the Commencal mechanic ruined it by not using the correct tool (I assume) when removing it to get the forks out to send back as they were not getting full travel i...
I have a 2020 SX fantastic bike , had a few niggles that Im pretty sure were just from the mechanic who assembled it here in Australia
Solid bike handles really well , front end is amazing now I have 2 tokens in.
Run tubeless with air-liner front and back never had a puncture and can run low...
Disco brakes.com have loads of variety of compounds and less than 1/2 the price of fancy pants brands , I buy them in bulk
I used to hate my Code R brakes until i switched over to the ceramic pads from Disco now love them.
Which ever bike you go for .....you will adapt , only takes a couple of rides to bed in and get used to what ever you ride be it 29 or 27.5
For me when I get back on my 29r it just feels huge , but the thing that swung me to my SX was the rear shock being a coil .
The travel is sublime with no...
I find hot waxing good for removing excessive chain pubic hair growth sort of a like a Brazilian ........
Seriously I just use Squirt chain wax best I have found no grit sticks to it , I hate oily chain lube we have
sandy soil here and it wrecks drive trains.
Okay a bit of an update on what I have done to the SX ,
he air-liner I put in the front wheel is probably the best thing I have done to the handling of the bike .
It has so much more support through corners and berms now , the front tyre does not roll so the tread stays in full contact with the...
With air liner and tubeless front and back just psi squeeze test is needed , the airliner stops the tyre rolling so has full grip in fast berms and pinch flat proof , rims protected and run flat . So no need to be obsessive about correct pressure , best mod ever.
Sydney Nth beaches , lots of ebikes up here ,
maybe its the older more financially affluent demographic of the local population.
Lots of e-curious too.
The group I have been riding with for the last 15 years have all but a couple gone non analog .
Now the up is as much fun as the down...
HeatproofGenie , I suffered exactly the same issue . I thought it was related to the dud headset issue I had (replacing it with a Hope) but when I got the bike back I still had the noise .
I was convinced it was the battery so packed it with inner tube rubber , nah !
Until , one day I lifted the...
Couple of improvements I have done ,
Jet black waffle grips in matching red but the big improvement is there soft thick raised pattern that helps with vibration and fatigue , after going tubeless also filling the rear tyre with an air-liner to reduce the chance of rim damage and flats I have...
I am about 2.5" (at 5'10" )taller than you , I purchased a Large SX it is only just big enough for me I feel like I am always pushing my butt right too the back of the bike almost off the seat .
The large is not massive your call but I personally prefer a bike a little bigger than smaller...
So the good news : Shimano replaced my dud motor .Sooner than I thought .
Well I could of contributed to it after a big impact casing a jump some month back.
But it took its time to fail so maybe not .
The even better news is the new motor is much quieter and in trail feels like it has 20% at...
Yes , doesn't seem to be an issue as long as you follow the guidelines about social distancing , the only real issue would be the HWY patrol if you get pulled over .
Seems hit and miss each officer and his interpretation of the law , how far are you from home and if he considers what your doing...
