I have a small amount of play on my dropper post I am wanting to know is it easy to service them myself or should I get a bike mechanic to take a look, I have had the bike two year and it is feeling a little loose when I move the saddle.

I am coming up to 68 this year and enjoy going out on my bike but like you I was put off today because of the heat, I will be out tomorrow and the days after and hope it stays cool.

Looking through this thread has given me some good advice and I am thinking about purchasing a Ergon saddle for my e-Bike I ride on and off road and like to go into the countryside and find trails to ride on so any advice on what to buy would be appreciared.

I am looking to be buying a Ergon saddle as the Syncros one that came on the bike is painful when riding long distance I have to keep stretching when heading home due to a sore bum, I would appreciate any advice of what saddle to buy for my e-Bike and I ride on and off road when out.

I bought my Scott ebike in 2024 and the cable that was fitted to the dropper was a Jagwire cable which is thinner than a regular gear cable, that is why when I used a normal gear cable at first to replace the damaged one it felt tight and was sticking. I did ask the shop where I bought the bike...

I found out it is thinner than a regular gear cable and does the job.

No I did fit a normal gear cable at first and it was sticking when I pushed the lever and I was told it was thicker than a dropper one, When I bought the dropper kit the cable is thiner and glides in when inserted.

This is the Jagwire cable you need.

No a gear cable is thicker and will not work as I found out.

I used a Park tool allen keys set and one is smaller than the other I know it is a bit fiddly reconnecting the cable but I did get there in the end.

No I just replaced the inner cable and it worked perfectly if you look on Youtube it shows you how to reinstall a dropper cable and it's easy to do.

This is a new one I bought just in case it happens again.

I replaced my cable last year when it fraid and bought a Jagwire dropper cable which fitted perfectly, I found it easy to fit and it has worked fine since I replaced it.
