Correct, looking for a cover for the frame opening when the battery is removed. The tape does work, but not the exact thing I was looking for. Clearly there is no demand for something like this based on the lack of anyone making one.
AZ has so many opportunities for long rides, I would personally opt for high power. But like it has been said, the only way to know for yourself is testing various bikes. For me cost was a big issue as I had to buy 2 bikes, so finding the best value was a big piece in my decision as well as my...
I have been trying to source a cover or some kind of plug for my Rail 9.7. I do a lot of camping and traveling with the bike and I transport it with the battery out and I often ride it around camp w/o the battery. I'm somewhat amazed that Trek does not make a dummy cover of some kind. I saw one...
Welcome!
I live in Southern CA and experience the same issues. I just got my first EMTB and have experienced similar comments from the analog riders. The truth is I still ride my analog bike and used to be one of those riders who was irritated by young people riding EMTB's. I never said...
My wife was the reason why I ended up with an EMTB. She has been riding for bout 6 years, myself over 20. But we both recently turned 60. She was losing desire to ride due to the amount of climbing we have in our area. We rented some EMTB's on a vacation and it was an amazing eye-opening...
I've always plugged into the battery port first then the wall socket. However, I now use a surge and fuse protected power strip with a switch on it so I just flip off the switch and then the connection order doesn't matter.
Fortunately never experienced a plastic pump mount failure but good point Expidia on the threaded inserts not allowing much surface area. I added some plastic washers to level out the insert. Also suggest using blue Loctite and not tightening the bolts beyond snug. The Oneup pump is very tight...
Problem solved! Sharing for others who may be having the same issue. My LBS had a Oneup brand EDC 100cc MTB pump and the bracket has slotted holes and is wide enough that the pump clears the frame. Returned my Topeak and replaced with this and all is good. It's a tad expensive but I tested the...
I purchased a small tire pump and bracket that mounts under the water bottle cage. However, the down tube on the Rail is so wide that it does not fit properly as the pump rides on the frame. Has anyone run across a wider bracket for this situation? I could use spacers to move it up but the shock...
Thanks for the welcome! We got our second ride in over the weekend, I am blown away at how good this bike is, for a 53 pound bike it performs amazingly well. The power is crazy good and I easily climbed a very steep hill that would be hard to walk up let alone pedal up, and I got up to 37 mph on...
I've been a long time mountain biker going back to the days where 10 speeds were converted with motocross bars and knobby tires. A lot has changed over the years including my age. My last analog bike purchase was a Santa Cruz HT in 2020, I absolutely love the bike. However after moving into my...
