So your saying the VALA is a better bike in all aspects? What about descending capability with longer travel? or is the weight difference a big factor in that too. I know my XL reign is near 27kg so hard to slow down :)
Thank you all for the advice. Yes i intend to take it slowly, which i know will be hard but am aware the pedalling would be the easy bit. It's the dabs, and awkward movements i guess which would catch me out. I literally just bought a brand new top spec SC Bronson too, too get ready from the...
Some interesting knowledge in her I am sure to use. Crashed one week ago today ( literally riding back to car ) after a good day out, landed on a root on my left hip and shattered my femur neck. Lucky my buddy was riding back with me but it was still after dark before the Fire team and Ambo's...
My current Reign E+1 ( XL Almost 27kg with Cushcore and gravity tyres ) is pretty nice. Run down to limp mode on the 625 Watt hour once - that was a 50km+ day in Derby TAS. I don't mess around - Tour or mid mode mainly - I like to actually feel like I'm riding and am pretty fit. I find with...
Spotted on vital this morning - looks pretty nice. Link to full pictures here

I still run the 625W battery ( actually only 601 watts ) in my Reign E+1 and generally plenty of range so a modern high density 560watt battery is probably similar in range, but lighter etc.
Anyone else find the motor / drivetrain quite noisy on their Reign? I ran an STFU for a bit, unsure if it made a big difference though. Seems to be a lot of free play in motor system which is the main cause.
Hey everyone, two issues actually. First up is i'm getting a weird light sequence where the display lights on the top tube are flashing constantly and running a sequence where they go up / down display constantly? This is intermittent and does not always happen. Just today noticed it after 5...
I enjoy Brian's take on bike reviews. Was stoked he was so stoked on his Reign, but i think his hard charging style suits this bike. It is an Enduro bike, not a trail bike like say a Levo so needs to be ridden with purpose.
I removed mine half way after accidentally pulling dropper post outer past seat tube junction. Was not easy. Just gotta squish wire in / around motor as best you can. I know there are some wires at the front that sit above / in front of motor that can cause fitting issues. Work gently and im...
So quick question - sounds like its been answered already. If my Praxis cranks are shot - spline gone from riding loose one day - the SRAM GX axis cranks will fit as they are ISIS spline? I can get some in 160mm reasonably cheap s considering that option.
My bike seems to have a weird habit of running a weird sequence of lights now once turned off? Happens sometime hours after i pack it away - come into my shed and the lights on frame are runing up and down and flashing - anyone else have this issue?
If it could lose
If it could lose 2kg min would be nice - My XL is over 25kg, heaver than a mates Kenevo with boxxers! Carbon frame please, more top end speed / refinement on motor so the cut out not so noticeable. Higher BB.
Unsure but i do know on my bike if is downshift the motor speed controller past lowest setting, it actually turns assistance off. Then the display ( on bike ) just goes white lights on the RHS. maybe disconnect the cables from hea dunti and leave for a bit?
Even with my gripes about Giant / Yamaha motor it seems they are pretty relaible. I do believe yamaha actually crreate dthe first electric bicycle so i guess that helps.
Yeah ok - never ridden one.
Even the newest CX version 5? Funny have spent years making my Analog bike quite and then e bikes are just noisy all the time :)
Intersting - yeah its very strange. I ride my mates Brose and Shimano motors and the insant smoothness difference is quite apparent. Great motor no doubt, especially at lower speeds and lots of torque but could do with some tweaking to clutch/ sideplay and top speed power output.
