I’m running it on my RS181.1 I have it set in the middle degree….14? 180mm rear travel. Less engagement makes climbing over rock shelves a little more challenging.

Oh sorry. Correct; pedal kickback due to the rearward movement and chain growth of VPP.

Correct, Troydon gives return customers first chance. I’m happy with my RS181.1, but fun to be on the sideline watching how this run goes 🍿 🥤

I ordered the Gates tension meter after I ordered my frame, but returned it because Cavalerie told me it’s useless for there setup. I actually learned all this after my first ride with the belt being too tight.

FYI stay away from high engagement hubs with VPP rear suspension.

When I set up my Anakin frame build, Cavalerie advised me to set the belt tension as loose as possible without it falling off, which reduces output shaft bearing wear and drag.

UNNO MITH is the only raw carbon I can personally withstand. The natural carbon layup looks too flawed to me.

I’m hopeful if this round is just an updated version 1 motor, I can purchase the “quiet” parts to install or an entire updated quiet motor. As I prefer my “Battleship grey” RS181 over white……although white would be my second choice!

I do notice slower pick up in technical bits, which is why I have it set in the middle setting. I don’t prefer the greatest degree setting, as it makes technical shelf climbing more challenging.

Correct; mud isn’t an actual lubricant…..don’t purposely put mud on your gates belt. I don’t ride in extremely muddy conditions, so there’s not a ton of mud that makes it onto the belt. I agree it also depends on the type of mud/clay. Gearbox’s already have a bit more drag than cassettes do, I...

Agreed. Why I put my trust in Vorsprung Suspension to set up my new Telum’s for each bike, and make my ZEBs soak up everything with there Secus. More riding, less fiddling with knobs! 🤘🏻

They work great in mud. Mud actually lubes them as it squishes out between the ribs. When riding in dry dusty situations I spray the belt with belt dressing every other ride because the rubber belt going around the aluminum sprocket will produce a small squeak sound.
