It's official. When your bike is worth more than than the car you drive, you know your priorities are set right.

I have crashes now and then. At age 67, I should be given some priviledges, right? But to highlight the weakness of RideWrap, my bike was stationary on a trail one day when it lost balance and fell over onto a rock. It cut through the Ridewrap like it was tissue paper and gouged the carbon...

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

I would have definitely stuck with Ride Wrap if it offered the protection I expected. It did not. Maybe so for road/gravel or easy cross country style of riding. But for my style of riding, it was a waste of time & money. However, regardless of what wrap you choose, I recommend getting a...

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

I tried Ride Wrap and disliked it. The problem it's very thin making it easy to apply. But IMHO, doesn't provide protection anything more than light rock pings. It also has the same degree of de-laminating from the frame as all the others. I switched to a product called Wilderwild, and its...

Yes, there is sales tax. If your looking for a price break, be sure to check their Red Barn Used/Returns section often. There you can get a further discount for a bike that's been test ridden. Many people return a bike within the 30 day trial period. Trek offers full warranty on these returns...

You obviously scored a great deal on your slash+. However, there are only a few limited sizes left of MY25. So anyone needing a medium and large, MY26 is the only option unless you can find one from a local Trek store or dealer.

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

Just an FYI, Trek has recently dropped the retail price of the 2026 Slash+ 9.9 from $12,499 to $10,999. They also dropped the price on the 9.7 to $7,999. This is with the new 60nm motor. See here US website...

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

Just as you mentioned, I was happy to see the slash+ is backwards compatible with the older 360wh battery. I also have a spare which I plan to use on shorter rides to drop 2lbs off the overall weight. TQ claims they fixed the thermal limiting with the new 60nm motor cooling fins..but that is...

    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

Thank you for confirming what I hope to achieve with a Slash+. Your opinion means a lot coming from a previous EXe owner. Since I'm months away from riding again due to recent shoulder surgery (not bike related), I'll wait to find a deal on the newer 60nm version.

I remember seeing your comments on the Trek Fuel EXe Megathread. I am now considering getting a Slash+. I think my biggest issue with the EXe is not having a preferred mullet setup and the bike feeling too forward leaning. Is there anything you miss riding the EXe compared to the Slash+...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I had a bitch of a time mounting Kryptotals Enduro casing (not the Trail) which has thicker sidewalls. This goes for both composite and aluminum Bontrager rims. But it's worth it. IMHO best tires ever, which I have on all my bikes! However, as you might have experienced, it's nearly...

Continental Kryptotal Enduro are the best tires I've ridden on.. if you can find them.

Fuel EXe Fuel EXe Suspension Modifications/Questions

Does anyone have any experience running a 170mm fork on this bike? Did it make any difference vs a 160mm fork? I'm asking because I recently upgraded a Lyric 160mm to 170mm on a Trek Remedy and it made a significant improvement. Just wondering the same for the EXe, without exceeding the fork...

How did you crack your rim? Do you have the carbon or alum variety?

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Just and FYI, I had the same problem, but confirmed it wasn't the motor mounts. It turned out to be caused by the cranks. After adding some grease to the cranks where they attach to the spindle, creaking went away.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel Exe Ride wrap down tube piece application.

I removed the rubber protection, which peeled off easily. Installed the wrap and reapplied the protection. Either way works well.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Mine is so silent, I almost ran by front wheel into a mother and cub bear napping on one of my local trails. I also wasn't paying attention, until I heard the mother growl. Can't get any quieter than this.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I have the 2.4 enduro kryptotals mounted on my Ex-e. They were very hard to install on the bonty carbon rims, but totally worth it. Best tires ever!

Fuel EXe Fuel EXe Suspension Modifications/Questions

I also was about to upgrade the stock shock on my 9.8, which has the RS super deluxe select+ installed. The problem was blowing through the travel too quickly, and bottoming out on medium jumps. By adding more air really didn't resolve the problem. It just added another problem, now having...
