Hopefully the Ransom will stay as the Patron is nowhere near to long travel bikes can deliver. Despite the looks, Patron is quite fragile, especially in the BB area and does not allow to play with the rear suspension. Scott, give us a proper Ransom, with 190/180mm of travel, 500-750Wh battery...
This is how Scott should have configure eGenius and eStrike in the factory. Genius has upgraded fork, 170mm ZEB ultimate and Strike gets the fork from its bigger sibling - Fox 36. Both bikes feel much better, less pedal strokes, better at going down and just as good in the corners. Still not as...
Hello!! I have one from 2020, but since it is basically unchanged since then I can say a tad more about reliability and how it performs in the longer run. So the most important info is, that for the price the bike is perfect. Really. Very comfy, fast, stable. Of course there are more playful...
Clearly looks like a frame defect. And yes, could be done by jumping from a 3rd floor to flat while weighting 200kg, but I'm not so sure it could be done in the real life ;). BTW. I broke 3 alloy frames and 2 times they where replaced without any issues. 3rd time was clearly my fault, since it...
Shimano is going to release an updated motor this year, probably it will fit to current bike frames. Also with Bosch you would not be able to offer a custom battery as here. So for some manufactures it is easier to go this way - and for us the most important thing is to have a choice.
I have both eStrike and eGenius bikes and the main difference between the two are tires and suspension. There are minor differences here and there, but in general - the frame is identical.
Genius 900 (not "tuned" version) can be a great bike if you change most of the parts, starting with poor...
I had the same issue, but went for Aguri Marathon Silver instead (3x cheaper, 20kg weight limit). In general, I tend to drive with 3 eBikes on the roof without any problems. Of course I drive slower (up to 130kph) and especially limit speed when cornering. Don't worry. It will hold!
I do have the same sort of issue with my FOX 36 Rythm :/ and this is unfortunately "normal" in FOX forks. Sometimes, when this becomes a big problem (for example travel is shorter by 2cm) , the damper unit has to be replaced, which can help for a while.
Just wanted to add, that SCOTT offers "Contessa" model, specified with woman in mind. This bike has normal Strike frame and narrower handlebar with comfortable grips and wider seat. IMO it is worth considering when buying the bike for your wife. Overall in my wifes Contessa I just fitted 160mm...
So... I bought one (in S size) for my wife as well and... she don't like it :/ - yep, thats the truth. In general, all you wrote is correct, the bike itself is IMO great, I did a few rides on it by myself and it is very capable as well, not far off from eGenius, but for my wife weight is the...
So it has a BOSCH motor right now and a more traditional battery placing (inserted from the bottom) but still... for the price, the mighty Husqvarna Extreme Cross 10 just seems to be a better option (if you're looking for a 200mm suspension travel eBike).
In general - no, you'll not match the figures of the full seven 6. Your bike will be a bit slacker, with higher bar, shorter reach, etc. You can try and go with +30mm of travel at the front, but also seek for the option to shorten your fork to 140mm, since more than +20mm of travel affects bike...
Depends on the year of production, latest (2020-2022) model runs at 160mm at the front, but even with this fork eGenius is brilliant at taking corners and hitting roots with pedals. Because in low mode, BB offset is very big, -30mm in latest models, I decided to go with 170mm fork and I...
I did the upgrade to TOUR+ for several reasons:
- after a while you're getting used to it and use it as seamlessly as EMTB (which is my default mode for the mountains).
- standard TOUR is too strong for flat forrest tracks (TOUR+ starts from lower level of assistance).
- as terrain gets hilly...
And please do a quick review on this upgrade. I'd like to put a coil shock to the rear and I'm curious how it will influence the bike. Generally I like a progressive way of air shocks which allow to do some big jumps and drops, but I'd like to have even more sensitivity as well.
