I’m curious as to what you think might happen to the various components by being unused? My ebike is stored in a shed throughout hot summer and freezing winter and all still works fine. What damage could clean storage do?
Change the shock for a longer stroke and fit offset bushings at each end, I did this for 160mm rear travel with no change to the geometry. The details are on here somewhere, I can add more info later after work
I’m 6 foot tall on a large Rise, love it but a riding friend is 6’2” and always prefers an XL.
If you are still running the Fox 34, change it for something stiffer and with more travel, the 34 is a wet noodle on an e-bike, even a lightweight one like the Rise.
I have changed the rear shock to...

The shop mechanic said no problem with mine and gave me a written report so I’m all good. It was the dealer where I originally bought my Rise and he was aware of this ongoing issue. Can you get to the dealer you purchased from and have yours checked?
I bought it last May. I got the all clear on the motor axle today from the shop mechanic so I can keep riding. At least if anything goes wrong in future I will have this assessment on record. I may well change the cranks myself at some point. It’s a shame, I have nothing against the e13 cranks...
Cheers, I’m not on FriendFace so I hadn’t seen that. I wonder how Orbea will react to my shop warranty inquiry? The manager was aware of the issue but mine was the first Rise to come back to him regarding this. Fingers crossed it doesn’t take too long, I’m meant to be riding at Easter
Are you guys aware of the issue with ep8 axles cracking? Stick with Shimano if you are replacing the e13 cranks. Shimano are apparently blaming the issue on 3rd party cranks (e13 in this case) and say that only Shimano cranks are compatible with the ep8 motor. Sounds like bollocks as surely they...
There appears to be a growing number of issues with e13 cranks and ep8 axle failure. Have a search for the threads on here. If you don’t yet have any cracks on your axle and are definitely looking to change cranks, stick with Shimano… 😬
I managed to remove my e13 cranks this afternoon and inspect the axle ends on my ep8 motor. Both ends appear to have the beginnings of hairline fractures visible on the inside emanating from the small hole. I will be contacting the shop tomorrow to see what their response is. Ffs 😑
As already stated by others, Carbon repairs are often stronger than the original tube and are invisible after a respray.
DON’T SPRAY WD40 ON IT
Penetrating oil potentially getting into the Carbon fibres may render it much harder to repair 😬
Good luck
If you are in the uk be wary of co.uk websites based in mainland Europe. There will be associated fees to consider. I was looking long and hard at getting a fork from starbike but backed away from the import arse-ache
Yes, look out for regular eBay offers on reduced selling fees. It makes selling bikes and more expensive things way more attractive than their normal higher fees
I sold my Fox 34 for £430 at 6months old. Great fork but it was near it’s limit on chunky rocky descents with a 14 1/2 stone rider. I previously had a 150mm Fox 34 on my Levo SL and wouldn’t recommend it. Less bushing overlap made a flexy fork even flexier when pushed hard. The way I see it, if...
Try talking things through first with your folks, they might be shocked to find you upgrading them.
I changed my stock handlebar for a higher rise bar which felt much better but when I changed the fork to an X-Fusion Trace 36 at 160mm travel, I was surprised at just how different the front end...
