    Red flashing on ride control

Sounds like the magnet is in the wrong spot. Might need a little adjustment. Screwdriver is all you need.

Future EMTB: More power & range or lightweight (15-20kg)?

Lighter! I certainly don’t need more power. Pretty rare I ever use the full force of the yammy motor. More range would be nice, but to have the bike lose a few kegs would be ideal. My wife complains about this the most, and fair enough. She weighs a little under 50 kilos and her LIV is...

What feature are you hoping to seeing future generations of EMTBs?

Yes, this is what I was talking about in the original comment. A motor and ‘gearbox’ all in one. With no derailleur, just a rear sprocket attatched to a front, driving sprocket that spins at different speeds in relation to the cranks, according to the ‘gear’ it is in. Could be set to a desired...

What feature are you hoping to seeing future generations of EMTBs?

Apart from the obvious (lighter, stronger/smaller motor, increased range, etc). What do you hope to see from new ebikes in the future. One thing I am expecting before too long is an electronic shift. Not like the Shimano Di2 but more like the Bosch system where one turn of the crank is 2.5...

Yep, lock. Bordo 6000 with alarm. Would recommend.

GIANT TRANCE SX E+ 0 PRO

I love my E+1 Pro. The battery just seems to last and last. Never run it flat despite trying. I pretty rarely use anything but the bottom two settings though. Overall no issue with the display, although it can be a little tricky to see which lights are on at a glance in full sunlight.

Trance E+1, 4 days out in Thrunton woods, what a bike flies through everything thrown at it!!!!

+2 same here and same on my wife’s. She gets irritated by it but it doesn’t fuss me really.

    Rear rotor recommendations?

    Yeah, 200mm. It’s for a Trance E+1.

    Rear rotor recommendations?

So I’ve bent my rear rotor. I’ve ‘fixed’ it so it’s rideable but still a long way from perfect. It’s probably easily repairable by any mechanic with a proper trueing stand. Trouble is, my wife and I are leaving for a trip to Victoria to ride the trails around Forrest, pretty much straight...

Is this clever or just a terrible idea?

Won’t fit with a bottle in there. Used some grip tape and put it on the top tube. Not ideal for standover but far less likely to kill me, so that’s a bonus.

Is this clever or just a terrible idea?

I had a top tube bag, but it's too small/doesn't stay in place with that much weight. However, I don't usually keep too much in it, so at this stage it looks like I'll be ditching the bag and putting the lock there.

Is this clever or just a terrible idea?

Haha, so it look like the people have spoken! "I'm just surprised anyone would trust leaving their (I assume from the fork) £5k Ebike locked anywhere in public" "Don't ride it to the cafe/shops. Unless you like in a crime free utopia." Adelaide is a pretty nice place. There are shitty areas of...

    2019 Giant Trance E+2

They're pretty good factory. Lots of people don't like the seat but it's no worse than what was on my Cube prior he Giant so I haven't bothered swapping yet. You'll probably want to get a side access bottle cage though.

Is this clever or just a terrible idea?

No, too long for seat post when dropper is down and I don’t trust myself to not forget that it’s there when riding with it.

Is this clever or just a terrible idea?

So I recently bought a new lock for my bike (Bordo 6000 alarm). It’s good but I hate carrying a backpack and have run out of space on my bike. So can I attach it to my fork? Before you reply, know that I probably will never have it on the bike on trails but only when riding around town or to...

When do you think we will get Downhill battery charge regeneration?

I doubt we’ll see it. The money for the R&D just simply isn’t there. There the cash is being spent is on making batteries higher capacity and lower weight. Essentially batteries will just keep improving until the point where regen is a non-issue.

Giant battery issue / short range

Wife and I did a ~30km ride on the weekend. LOTS of climbing. Still came home with around 40% charge. Talk to Giant. Something wrong there. If you get a chance. Use the app to record your next ride before taking it in.

Finally, collected mine today. Trance E+2

Looks great Dan. Love the colour scheme on the blue. Dunno if that rear mud guard is gonna do much though :)
