    Replacement for lost Kiox

Nice idea, I’ve got an old lanyard lurking so I’ll be using that idea - thanks!

    Replacement for lost Kiox

Sadly, same for me this morning. Didn’t help that the ground is covered in leaves, was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Just ordered a new one (£200, ouch) and interested in seeing how people have secured theirs? In my opinion, a magnetised computer on a mountain bike isn’t the best...

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

Excellent comments, great to get some different opinions on why you kept (or didn’t keep) the acoustic/analogue/lung (whoever called it a ‘lung’ bike earlier cracked me up) bike. I did Bike Park Wales twice recently. One weekend on the Trek Rail - did 6 full climbs each day over two days. Then...

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

I think the type of riding you do makes a massive difference to whether an ebike or standard bike makes sense. For me, descending is what it’s about. Surrey Hills is my ‘local’ spot so on a typical ebike ride I’d probably cover about 25 miles. I’ll be riding the same routes several times and...

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

Nice bike ? I don’t understand why ‘acoustic’ has caught on, I can understand ‘analogue’ but acoustic just makes me think of guitars.

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

I think purely on the limited time I have to ride it probably makes more sense to just stick to the ebike. I’ll drink some beer and ponder ?

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

I figured this would be asked before, but I’ll check out the other posts. I don’t want to keep the bike and not use it, but don’t want to sell it and regret it!

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

Love the bike, also love the subtle colours that SC have on some of their bikes. You make a good point about keeping a basis and having a regular target to use it. Here’s mine:

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

Ok, so I’m relatively new to ebikes but not MTB in general, have been riding for 10 years plus. Up until I bought my Trek Rail a month or so back, I’d be riding a Santa Cruz Hightower LT. Amazing bike, can’t fault it. However, I’m not sure how much use it’s going to get as I’d much rather take...

    Ebike eating chains

I’ve heard that some manufacturers have been sponsoring Magpies on a new ‘kamikaze programme’. They’ve been training to specifically assault and preferably kill, anyone riding a bike made by Specialized. Be warned.

    Ebike eating chains

Thanks all for your comments. I hope that this is rider error, as I’d rather that then there be an underlying mechanical issue with the bike. The bike doesn’t skip gears, so there are no indexing issues as far as I can see. My riding buddy on a 11speed Kenevo hasn’t had this issue, and I’m...

    Ebike eating chains

There's nothing wrong with the Shimano or Sram chains, as demonstrated by thousands being used on ebikes, only people with no mechanical empathy complain about them. I’ve been riding acoustic MTB for over 10 years, I ride the bikes hard, including regular bike parks. Never have I snapped a...

    Ebike eating chains

Just picked up the KMC black tech ebike specific chain. Apparently it has reinforced joints to cope with extra loads. Fingers crossed it proves to be more durable than the Shimano and SRAM chains I’ve had so far!

    Ebike eating chains

Thanks all, looks like I need to adapt how I ride. Coming from an acoustic, I’ve never really considered shifting under load and just rode the bike. The ebike has to be treated differently, so it’s a case of being more conscious about how and when I shift. I think I’ll try the KMC Hollow Link...

    Ebike eating chains

I have a 2020 Trek Rail 9.8 XT, great bike but Its now destroyed 2 chains in less than 150 miles. Gears shift nicely so don’t think there is an alignment issue. First chain snapped when I applied too much power whilst changing gear in higher torque mode, LBS replaced original Shimano chain with...

    Bosch KIOX retrofit

Looks so much better than the purion. Much less likely to get damaged as well, I always thought the purion was really exposed on the bars.

Anyone find the illusive KnockBlock Kiox Top Tube mount? Like trying to find a needle in a haystack whilst blindfolded. Can’t find them in stock anywhere ??‍♂️
