I guess irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.

Being partially color blind could present a problem. Unfortunately, I don't know if the font colors can be changed. Eco is blue, Trail is a "forest green", Turbo is orange and Auto is a "lime green". Do you have trouble with all of them or only some?

Unfortunately, the garage windows face south so it gets toasty in the afternoon. I need to grab one of those bucket mister fans and then I’ll be doing the lower fork service in the morning before everything heats up.

You should look into the Aventon EMTB models. They have two models, are reasonably priced and should work well for you needs. However, check with bike shops in your area to see if they can perform warranty work should anything arise during the warranty period. Good luck with your search.
