Thanks, but perhaps I wasn’t clear enough. Does the mullet (and drop of circumference) mitigate the problem of saddle height when the seat is down? My understanding is the lack of insertion depth prevents a ride getting the saddle out of the way fully. Does the mullet help here?

The compression adjustment alone is a significant upgrade and the cost to change wasn’t that high after I moved on the OEM. They are just (as you’d expect) higher quality.

The German “100bhp limit” never really was (there was an ‘limit’ on kilowatts) and was abandoned long before the R7. You might be confused with TÜV, which are strict laws on what can be changed on road bikes. The French did have a 100bhp limit (until 2016/17), but the R7 was actually de-powered...

Depends where/how you ride, I suppose. Rocky jank/loam/mixed/trail/enduro etc etc I have a Fortus 30 wheelset which wasn’t expensive. Probably not enough angry bees in the hub for some, but it’s well made and puts up with my nonsense.

Shorter crank arms solves the problem of the very low bottom bracket and strikes without any reciprocal woes.

Orbea seem to have a thing for cheapo cup and cone hubs. A plague on ‘em. Get some Hope Fortus in there at the very least.

Got the bike back yesterday - new motor, new Purion, nothing to pay - great service by Bosch and Ace Bicycles.
