Anyone change their rear hub while leaving the front hub stock?

I’ve noticed a little bit of lag when going from freewheeling (coasting) to pedaling. I also hear something of a clank when re-engaging the pedal under load. I’m thinking maybe it‘s the DTSwiss hub (I believe the 370) that came stock on my 2021 Santa Cruz Heckler MX-S. I’m looking for a hub...

front brake squeaks when unengaged. Any idea what might be the cause?

I had Code RSCs installed on my Heckler MX and ever since that time I’ve gotten brake squeak when moving forward. Oddly, when I move the bike backwards there is no squeak. I can tell it’s the front break because when I squeeze (engage) the front break the squeaking stops. Could it be a...

Anyone with a Shimano STEPS Charger (EC-E8004-2), does the LED go on even if it’s not connected to the bike?

I’m trying to trouble shoot why my Santa Cruz Heckler as the battery isn’t charging. I’m hoping it’s just a bad charger. When I plug my shimano charger in to the outlet the LED does not light up. It does not light up when connected to my bike. I forget if the LED lights up whwn plugged in...

Does anyone have a difficult time choosing which bike to ride

This of course assumes the rider has more than one bicycle. Since getting my Orbea Rise to go along with my Heckler MX, I now find myself having to think about which bike to ride. Anyone have the same “dilemma”?

My Medium Rise feels more nimble than my Large Heckler MX. I wonder if it’s the weight or geometry

Both of these bikes are delightful rides. The Heckler is plush but more of a handful in tighter or more technical terrain whereas the Rise just feels a bit more nimble. The reach for both bikes is nearly identical so I’m thinking perhaps the 20mm of extra wheelbase for the Heckler MX and the...

    Just got my Rise M20

What a great bike. the medium size and the 5 lbs weight savings makes it feel a bit more nimble than my large Heckler MX-S. The Heckler does feel more plush though and a bit more premium but the Rise feels great too, very lively. I‘m currently waiting for some adapter parts to come in...

I have a Rise coming next week. Has the crank arm issue I’ve read about on some of these MTB forums been resolved?

I am looking forward to receiving mine. I already have code RSC brakes and a new Shimano display to upgrade the bike. I’ve read on MTB forums that certain owners had their crank arms come loose with the cap falling off. Anyone else experience this and is there any remedy. I bought some...

    Heckler MX-S

Other than I probably should‘ve gotten the medium, I love this bike. I just fitted it with some Dissectors front and back, I’m going to see how that goes.

Shimano EP8 was noisy first couple rides and now is quiet

I don’t know if anyone else experienced this. When I first got my Heckler MX-S, the Shimano EP8 motor was intrusively loud: like rustling plastic and paper. Now it is even more quiet than the Bosch CX 4 that came in my Trek Powerfly. I still miss the extra pull of the Bosch especially on...

    Anyone riding on Maxxis Dissectors?

I decided the Minion DHF DHR2 are a little to heavy duty for my needs as I’d like less rolling resistance. I was considering the Rekons but the Dissectors max terra seem like they might be good comprise offering leas rolling resistance but plenty of traction. Anyone use these tire front...

Thinking of swapping Maxxis DHF and DHR II for Rekons.

I love my Heckler MX S but for the type of riding I do I don’t need that ultimate grip and would prefer less rolling resistance. Any thoughts on the Rekons or maybe a Rekon rear paired with another Maxxis upfront. Any suggestions appreciated.

New to biking, ebiking is a game changer for me. No more fear of hills lol

I recently picked up a Santa Cruz Heckler MX S and its the nicest bike I’ve had the pleasure of riding. I’ve gone from never riding to riding 20 miles a day within a couple of weeks. I love this sport!

Trade my large SC Heckler MX S for a medium MX S or another comparable ebike?

I‘m new to the world of MTB / EMTBs and as you know supply has been very limited. My first foray into bikes was a Trek Powerfly but is was an XS frame and felt really small after the first week. That Gen 4 Bosch motor was killer though. My LBS allowed me to trade the Trek in for the SC...
