ORBEA WILD LT 2027, SPEED LIMIT?

I guess you mean the pedal assist limit, obviously you can pedal it as fast as you like… It will be set to whatever your countries laws/regs are, not sure what they are where your username says you’re based, but in the EU/UK it’s 25kph/16mph, US generally speaking 30kph/19mph and in NZ and some...

Intradrive Mid drive motor and 8 sp gearbox (EP8 mount)

When I see comments like that one, I’m reminded of the Bestie cartoon depicting the parting of the Red Sea. 😂

Intradrive Mid drive motor and 8 sp gearbox (EP8 mount)

These are prototype hacks, it’s probably worth remembering. The belt drive one looked neater, but I suppose it will be up to bike manufacturers to implement their own tensioner solutions depending on their own frame design/pivots/kinematics etc. I’m quite excited by the Intradrive approach...

Any evidence of good engineering regarding waterproofing?

Obviously there may be a difference between what a manufacturer claims is the Ingress Protection (IP) rating of a given motor and the reality. The OP was after evidence, but in most cases all that will exist is anecdote via a self selecting sample posting on the internet. All manufacturers seem...

Night riding setup for eMTB — what lights are you using?

Similar to Rusty, I’ve got an Exposure six pack on the bars and an Exposure joystick on the helmet. As they get switched between a lot of bikes, it’s handy to not have to faff with batteries etc.

    Flow Update: Extended Boost, Pre-Tension

The bike as well?! 😉😂 I’ll give my SX a ride out on my regular route this weekend, I haven’t managed to ride it since the update.

    Beware of update!

I’ve never run an Ochain, so zero experience of it, but according to some internet sleuthing it should play nicely with the latest update? But yes, I understand the next update will have the option to turn the Chain Tensioner element off.

Gear indicator no longer showing on Avinox display

From what you say how it worked earlier in the thread, don’t you have to pedal anyway for it to update or does it remember where you started and then know whether you’ve shifted up or down?

120 Nm update for the Bosch CX and CX Race Announced

It’s in the SX motor as well, updated my Marin yesterday and saw it had been added.

    Avinox Reveals its Motor Gearbox

I’d never heard the phrase ‘Star-Belly Sneeches’, so did a search. Might be why you used the phrase in the first place, but there’s a lesson in that tale somewhere for us consumers of electric mountain bikes! 😂

120 Nm update for the Bosch CX and CX Race Announced

No, you don’t have to back pedal to activate it, the back pedal that moves the chain ring forwards a revolution or two that has been described appears to be a ‘happy accident’. 😂

What did you do to your EBike this week?

The 170mm dropper on my new Mondraker was too long, there isn’t much insertion depth on the frame, so I had to have quite a lot of lower tube out of the frame and about 45mm of upper tube not used. Really awkward to get back to my pedaling height after dropping it as well. So I found a ‘cheap’...

120 Nm update for the Bosch CX and CX Race Announced

Interesting, will have to give that a go, updated mine with the extended boost and chain tensioner feature this evening but too late (and too hot!) to go for a spin this evening.

120 Nm update for the Bosch CX and CX Race Announced

I believe that previously Extended Boost at whatever Bosch had set it to only applied in EMTB and Turbo mode, presumably there was only a small amount of boost assigned to Turbo as you already had more beans/power in Turbo. Point is that you can set it to whatever you like now, some people...

How do I alter over run?

Ah yes, that could be it, I noticed the Extended Boost boxes in the Flow App under the Custom Modes section, but must admit I didn’t click on them to see if I could adjust anything. 😂👍

How do I alter over run?

I thought it came in with Performance Upgrade 2.0 back in May? I didn’t have a CX5 back then though, but it was on my new bike weekend just gone. Extended Boost has been available on my Bosch SX for a while, it just wasn’t user adjustable. Adjustability for Extended Boost came in the May...

How do I alter over run?

Extended Boost is the Bosch name for overrun and you can adjust it by changing each Custom Riding Mode in the Flow App as desired. 0 is off, 10 is maximum. You don’t need Flow+ for that, it seems to add a few things like the ability to lock the bikes battery, but I’ve not tried it and don’t...

Avinox Fast Charging and Battery Longevity

Yep, there are some things it’s unwise to do with Lithium batteries, the main one being letting them self discharge below the minimum cell voltage whereupon the BMS will write them out and won’t let them be recharged for safety reason. Circa 2.5v is generally bad news, less than 2.0v and there...

Avinox Fast Charging and Battery Longevity

it’s tempting to extrapolate that video and apply it to all lithium ion batteries, but it’s not as simple as that. A phone battery is a small one and is a ‘sweated asset’ for most users, it’s constantly being cycled as much as once a day for most people. Age and cycles wear out batteries...

Is the Power War over ? Is 1500 peak watts, 150Nm, the new benchmark ?

Well, to be fair that is probably the definition of ‘self shuttling’ but if you’re only able to do it once then it’s just ‘ going for a ride’?! 1600m isn’t a huge day out in the mountains by any means, not to demean it at all. I think what the Top Guns in the thread are talking about is...
