Less than 20kg full power E for my short AF wife.

Very valid consideration. I weight 154 lb, ride the SL/AM along the front range of CO, and have used the 2 highest settings <1% of the miles (according to the Bosch Flow app).

Shorter cranks for a Bosch SX system. Which offset will be compatible, and general sense check!

OEM on Pivot Shuttle SL/AM is 160mm Praxis eCranks; 160mm RaceFace ERA on Transition Regulator; both work fine with Bosch SX. When I dropped to a 155-mm crank on a different eMTB, I felt less stable off the saddle while riding chunkier terrain, and switched back to 160 mm.

Shuttle SL Fazua motor failure - concerned about long-term viability

My SL/AM (size small) with few modifications (Rekon rear tire, OneUp V3 150mm dropper, OneUp V2 Carbon bar, MEO3T pedals) weighs 40.5 lb. After Bosch firmware update, the max torque is 60 nM.

Shuttle SL Fazua motor failure - concerned about long-term viability

Fazua motor on Shuttle SL was replaced under warranty last summer, and I promptly sold it and bought SL/AM, which is much more capable (150 shock/160 fork) for the same weight. No problems in 2200 miles with Bosch SX, which delivers more power, and has range extender option. If the bike shop...

Porsche are closing down E-bike division and Fazua

I had 3 Fazua 60 bikes: Shuttle SL, Heckler SL, Ari Nebo Peak; the last 2 bought after hearing they had fixed the issues. All developed motor or battery problems that required replacement and downtime. I've now ridden over 3000 miles combined on Shuttle SL/AM and Transition Regulator SX, with...

    Scared about reliability

Wish you luck with Shuttle SL. I had one, and 2 other eMTB (Santa Cruz Heckler SL, Ari Nebo Peak) with Fazua Ride 60. All needed motor or battery replacement within 1 year. Warranty covered them, but the down time and lack of confidence (especially when out on trails) convinced me to sell...

    Scared about reliability

If you like the Pivot, demo their Bosch eMTB's. I've been very happy with the Shuttle SL/AM and its Bosch SX provides ample power (particularly with the firmware update pushing the torque to 60 nM). Between the SL/AM and a Transition Regulator SX, I've ridden over 3000 miles on Bosch SX...

Ok what's ya weight weenie e-bike hacks

Two SL eMTB (Pivot Shuttle SL/AM and Transition Regulator SX, which replaced the Heckler SL - both weigh 41 lb with pedals); Yeti SB 140 weighs 30 lb. I can't say I ride very aggressively, as I rarely bottom out, even though I try to make most side hits. The Motives (and TRP Evo Pro on the...

Ok what's ya weight weenie e-bike hacks

On that bike (Heckler SL), I did keep the Maven levers. On a subsequent build (Yeti SB 140), I had the Maven's completely swapped out for Motive Ultimate.

Is e-bike motor power and torque completely cadence related?

Have you installed the firmware update for Bosch SX released last year (November in US)? After I increased the maximum torque to 60 nM, I clearly felt more assistance at a lower cadence, starting in mid 80's. If your goal is to increase the power assistance, I certainly recommend adjusting the...

Heckler SL owner in north east of United States.

I rode a Heckler SL for 5500 miles, and was very happy with how it handled, the suspension, and the amount of support. However, the Fazua motor started clunking and needed to be replaced. As I had another Fazua bike (Pivot Shuttle SL) that also developed Fazua problems, I decided to sell both...

WHO makes this SL Trail/All-Mountain ebike?

I bought both bikes last year, and have not noticed noise above tire impact going over rocks or the tractor tracks on dirt roads; certainly nothing bothersome. For 6 months, I was also riding a Santa Cruz Heckler SL with the Fazua 60, and didn't hear any significant difference between that and...

WHO makes this SL Trail/All-Mountain ebike?

My routine rides along the Front Range are just under 30 miles/1000ft elevation gain, and I've never depleted the CompactTube. As the motor provides great support (especially at cadence > 90), I use the 2 lowest settings 98.6% of the miles, according to the FLOW app. For my every day rides...

WHO makes this SL Trail/All-Mountain ebike?

I considered several of the bikes on your list and ended up with Pivot Shuttle SL/AM (29") and Transition Regulator SX (mullet). Both are very capable and fun, suspensions are plush and forgiving, the Bosch SX provides ample power, and, with some modifications, weigh approximately 41 lb (with...

What you want improved on your next SL e-bike

I'm very happy with two BOSCH SX bikes: Pivot Shuttle SL/AM (29"; 150mm/160mm) and Transition Regulator SX (mullet; 150mm/160mm). As technology and design advance, the most important improvements for me would be reduction in weight and (modest) increase in battery range.

Recommended settings for Bosch SX with lighter rider

I've been riding the SL/AM for 10 months, mostly along the Front Range of Colorado, so can discuss my experience with the Bosch SX. The first step is for her to start at the lowest setting, and step up only when she needs additional support. I weigh roughly 50% more than your spouse, but ride...

Weight and power specs of latest Avinox releases

Including the latest releases from Avinox, what is now the lightest combination of motor and battery? If this combination is set for maximum torque of 60 nM, what is the predicted range for trails with 0, 1000 ft, and 2000 ft elevation gains? The basic question is whether Avinox can beat power...

Ok what's ya weight weenie e-bike hacks

I've changed components on a couple of bikes, with the same goals. As mentioned, swapping tires to the lightest casings and most narrow widths that still meet your needs is most straightforward, and can yield substantial weight reduction. Depending on your dropper post, switching to a lighter...

    Lightweight bike for lighter rider?

Congrats; It's very capable and fun to ride. If it's delivered with the default 55 nM torque, updating the Bosch firmware to boost torque to 60 nM is straightforward and quick. Power amplification kicks in nicely when you increase cadence above 90. Also, the fork and rear shock settings...

    Lightweight bike for lighter rider?

I ride the SL/AM primarily, as the full 29" setup gets me to trails faster. I take the Regulator SX when I drive to bike parks, as the mullet setup is more lively on berms and jumps. It's great to shuttle quickly back uphill with an eMTB and get in 2-3 times the runs as I could with an analog...
