FYI, I also had the same Linkglide derailleur fail in exactly the same place, and Shimano replaced it under warranty. It should not have broken so easily, and they agreed it was a manufacturing fault in the cast part.

I was kinda disappointed to read that it has a 520% gear range... we really don't need that much range for MTB any more, now that we have the power and torque of modern motors. IMO 400% range is plenty, and would surely have allowed a smaller + lighter + more efficient design.

This is completely untrue. The stem and bars combine to define the positional relationship between your hands and the steerer tube. How they do that between themselves makes no difference whatsoever (apart from maybe stiffness in extreme cases).

Has anyone tested the max seatpost insertion on an XL frame? According to the geometry chart it's 300mm, but I'm wondering if that's accurate in real world use. Reason being, I'd like to get a 240mm drop OneUp seatpost and run it slammed in the frame, but the insertion depth is listed as 340mm...
