My point about weight is mostly: If you have a sub 2kg motor giving out a medim amount of power, by all means try to get the overall weigth down with a 400-600Wh battery to get a ~4kg system weight. For a full power MGU/ECVT with ~4kg of motor, the bike isn't going to ride dramatically...

Would take the biggest battery option, especially if removable batteries are on the way out. Bigger range, less cycles used over time. Battery weight will get less important with heavy MGUs.

Never really thought about regen braking, but that could be one of the bigger deals if implemented in a nice way, e.g. set a default regen rate at the start of ride to account for terrain from 0 to say 30%, and a system for engaging and disengaging it naturally (e.g. 0 regen for x seconds after...

While I agree they should take note of the success of Avinox with their long and thin batteries, that demo bike is one of the best looking demo bikes I have seen, looks like a finished Yeti product!

One thing that maybe gets forgotten in these discussions is that many of us are using ebikes with a 25km/h cutoff. I'm using 34t front with 10-42speed cassette, usually with Bosch emtb+ 750W/100nm. I almost never use the 42t cog, with just a handful of exceptions where I am out of the saddle...

Seems like the Gobao is also pretty far from release, which makes me think those amazing battery specs exist only in a spreadsheet based on known cells that won't hit the bike market for a while.

With a 600wh I would think 22kg is fairly easy, at least with air suspension. I'm second guessing myself on 22kg with the 800wh, as my maths previously always accounted for the battery in the derailleur + a specific pod controller. Now with the level of integration maybe going mechanical...

I'm 5ft10 also, my preferred reach is around 470mm with a 40mm stem, I think either an M or L would work for me but I'd probably go M. If I went M: high setting reach is 462mm, could add a 5mm reach headset or just a slightly longer stem and be fine. I'd you go L, then consider riding the bike...

I agree, I think with a similar build as my current bike: RS Zeb ultimate + vivid air ultimate Dt swiss h1700 11speed XO1 drivetrain Kryptotal DHs (closer to Enduro casing weights of other brands) I would expect an M Wild LT to hit close to or under 22kg (800Wh and no pedals)

How tf are Mondraker in business when they release a bike for every single motor on the market and then have them sitting around on shop floors at -50% a year later? Unless the new motor fits in previous TQ mounting which would be great...

A silver lining to the 750W limit if it comes true tomorrow, is that we will almost certainly see an Avinox sub 2kg 750W 80-100Nm motor come out next year if it happens. (All speculation)
