Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

I guess we would need some new brake levers which relay the lever position to the control unit. Another component that needs to be powered :)

With these E-CVT's kill the rest of the market?

For sure there will be a delay in forward motion when you press that pedal hard and fast. May feel like a slipping clutch.

Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

I asked AI how much regen force a Gobao X1P could possibly generate. 0.4G peak, apparently. There's a lot of variables and the math could be off. But if true, that's pretty good.. So paired with a hydraulic front brake, we'd probably only need a one pot 140mm rear brake. The pads would last for...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

I've looked into planetary gearing a bit. It's very flexible and you can configure it in a number of ways. The sun gear is sentral here, as is the possibility to lock it with an electromagnetic brake (no current = locked) or a sprag clutch. 1) Sun gear is only allowed to go forward: When...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

I was commenting on what will happen when the battery is dead or disconnected, however unlikely. You think moving the pedals will force the bike forward in this scenario?

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

I'm unsure if the bike will move at all when the battery is dead. The motor that is responsible for the rider getting a sensible cadence will spin freely, if I'm not mistaken.

    Avinox Reveals its Motor Gearbox

I like the idea of a mechanical front brake and a re-gen rear brake. The rear brake would not work very well when the battery is at 100%, though.

Well Brose did show a motor/gearbox concept 2 years ago. Could be still in development, destined for the Levo 5?

New Amflow TL / 480wh Avinox RE

I have some experience with a Tailfin rack on the Levo 4, and also with a heavy Enviolo hub + rack on an Orbea Muga. It comes as no surprise that you really don't want a lot of weight on the back wheel. The Levo 4 X will obviously perform a lot better due to this. On the other hand, as long as...

    Avinox Gearbox.

Without power you'd just spin the internals around like you're in neutral, I think.

    Avinox Gearbox.

I really hope so! The Pinion MGU was a bit of a letdown, would be grand if Avinox released a powerful eCVT.

2027 Orbea Wild LT Released - Avinox Powered

Having had a couple of Orbea Rises witha "RS" tune, my view is that capping the power is pretty daft. You start pedalling faster and the motor just dies. Kills the "sporty" feeling. Ideally you want max torque to stay constant over a wide cadence band. If you want the battery to last longer...

Might a TQ HPR90 announcement be imminent (June at Eurobike)?

Out of interest, why are people interested in a HPR90? There are many other motors out there with 85+ Nm. Is it the lack of noise? Is it the form factor? If it is the "natural" feeling of the TQ motor I suspect that particular character trait goes out the window once they up the assistance to...

Levo Gen 4 Show us your Levo 4's (any levo 4,R,evo)

3 kg lighter than my Expert. Do you find it less front-heavy? Is the riding position more forward with the larger rear wheel?

For a commute I'd rather have the Vado 3X. For more general purpose the Levo with the bottom bracket raised, steep head tube angle and high rise handlebars for a more upright position. Base model is less than 5k euros, just add racks. Let me know if you find the Rothmans wrap :)

Apparently there's now also a Vado 3X (full suspension Vado), so Specialized is getting more out of the 3.1 ecosystem. As with cars, each new model is heavier and larger than the previous, so I guess what many folks are waiting for is the next Levo SL which will be more like the earlier Levo...

Yeah, the Dakar livery was awesome. Any companies that sell such a custom wrap?

Having a front and rear rack is good for weight distribution. Some items are large in volume but not that heavy, so you can always put those in front if you prefer. Lastly, a front rack can carry a bag of snacks or other things that you can easily access while riding.

The best rear rack to fit on a Levo so far has been the Tailfin. You change the rear thru-axle for a custom one that sticks a bit out. Takes seconds to attach and remove the rack itself. This new Specialized rack however is attached to the frame which is a huge plus. The 4X is like a Riese &...

Cool that you can retrofit the racks. Must be the most capable SUV out there.
