Seems like limited availability of Avinox motors - too many brands need them for their latest models.
Maybe Avinox has diverted production across to their MGU because everyone will want those next . .
I guess you won't get bikes that you can ride as a manual with the battery removed. So long as the BMS cuts power to the motor at 5% battery then the remaining power should run the CVT for hours, probably longer than you want to pedal it!
I don't understand why these people get their panties in a twist over naming semantics. Surely the point is they're new torque sensing electric drive units for class 1 pedalecs which don't use crappy chains and derailleurs. What they're called is irrelevant to their impact on the sport.
Seems to me if you could swap out an M2 for their MGU then you'd have to ditch the whole rear end, chain, derailleur etc and fit a belt drive. Feasible but maybe just buy a whole bike and swap your custom bits over . .
No, you need another bike. Everything is 160/160 minimum these days. Fitting a 160 airspring to the front is cheap and easy improvement but a Cascade link is a lot of money for a minor improvement at the rear IMHO
The Avinox M2 has a massive uptake but seems to be in short supply - are Avinox already ahead of the game and putting more resources into their MGU knowing it will kill sales of their current motors?
There have been news reports of police cracking down in many city centres and confiscating illegal bikes. Seems to be aimed at Deliveroo type riders who blast through pedestrian areas rather than the eMTB crowd. I some how can't see them deploying into the local woods 😁
I have had a Rise for 4 yrs and just bought a Slash+ ; the Rise is unlocked and a medium so a lovely comfy ride over almost anything whilst the Slash+ is more fun on the DH bits. TBH if I made the Rise rear suspension 160mm I probably wouldnt need the Slash+ but its nice to be able to swap around.
I was about to sell my current bike and order an Avimox bike but waiting for bikes with the new motor to hit the shops. And then got tempted by the massive discounts on offer so now have two bikes - and enduro biased one and a general XC biased one plus spare wheels with gravel tyres. The...
I've dialled boost back to 70Nm because I find that enough so an MGU with 80Nm or around that would suffice, although wheelies uphill using 100Nm would be fun!
Anyone else find the mindless dribbling chat on here irritating, especially when the lounge is there specifically for waffling about nothing? I thought this was for pictures (MTB related not eff-ing cats) but admin does nothing . .
