Just to report back.. I set trail to 80/100 and only rode in trail last few rides and have not had same symptoms. Maybe it's just enough off of full power to keep heat down, or maybe because the ambient temp has been lower.

Lol no! Just don't wash them everytime! It's really simple and the reason why some people have multiple motor failures. It's just really hard for some people to not wash their bikes! If you have gone through 3 motors in just a few hundred miles you are doing something wrong.

Yes, I wouldn't wash that.. just let it dry and the brush off.. sold my last bike with over 3000 hard miles on it.. Fwiw I never washed my acoustic bikes either. No need unless you are servicing something like bearings, even then I'd do it by hand.

Never ever wash your bike. It's the reason some people have problems and other don't. I suspect it's why so many in uk have issues.. just let mud dry and brush it off, then wipe with wet microfiber towel. No need to be hosing it down.
