I had actually considered trying to sell the Decoy and buying a new bike, maybe another brand, to get not just a bigger battery but also everything else would be new, but stuck with the duck as I've invested so much in improvements to get it exactly where I want it!

Amazingly 3 weeks later the 720 is still available here in France, must be the price! Just checked the UK site and it doesn't even show up?

So, I've had my Decoy for 5 years now, time flies eh! Done loads of mods, coil fork and shock, Hope brakes, One-Up bars etc etc. The main reason I'm toying with a change is the (non) availability and price (€1000!!!) of a 720wh battery, also the entire bike is now coming into its 6th season and...

If it was the bike I really wanted, then I'd go for it, never crossed my mind when I bought my Decoy, got Stunlocker for the US speed limiter and it's nice, but wouldn't sway me if I bought a Bosch bike. That said, I live in the bottom of a valley so most of my riding is 10-15kmh uphill :D

To be fair to the OP, on the website there is no mention of the bike being illegal, so I should think it's a slam-dunk of miss-sold, not everyone knows the law regarding e-bikes, so should be in the description! https://lankeleisi.co.uk/products/lankeleisi-xf4000

Has anyone on here EVER been stopped and checked? Not that I'm condoning riding a non-legal bike, but a friend has one and so long as you don't ride at 40mph on the roads past a police car it's unlikely?

Doh, reducing travel just makes the fork shorter, it will still bottom out at the same point!

Thanks for the info! Took the spring out the fork today and the current gap with a 2.5" tyre is 16mm................ That's with the Smashpot set for 180mm travel, guess I could reduce that to 170mm and/or set the bottom-out damper to max, have to weigh up pros and cons....

Could anyone please give me the measurement of how much the "hump" protrudes compared to the 540? Looks around 30mm or so in the photos......

I too almost hit the button this morning, but wanted to take the coil out of my fork and check for clearance issues on my size S, may still check the travel this weekend and see how tight it is, maybe next time!

If anyone has a chance to try the 720 in a size small I'd be very grateful and interested to find out definitively the reason it's not safe!!!

It'll be interesting to find out why YT are saying the new battery is not suitable for size S, they're stating for rider safety, so maybe the front wheel may impact the battery on full compression?

Mind you, round here (French Alps) I think I'd prefer the extra travel on the YT (180/165), but if the OP isn't a Dh fiend then 150 is plenty!
