Heckler SL owner in north east of United States.

I rode a Heckler SL for 5500 miles, and was very happy with how it handled, the suspension, and the amount of support. However, the Fazua motor started clunking and needed to be replaced. As I had another Fazua bike (Pivot Shuttle SL) that also developed Fazua problems, I decided to sell both...

WHO makes this SL Trail/All-Mountain ebike?

...last year, and have not noticed noise above tire impact going over rocks or the tractor tracks on dirt roads; certainly nothing bothersome. For 6 months, I was also riding a Santa Cruz Heckler SL with the Fazua 60, and didn't hear any significant difference between that and the Bosch SX bikes.

    Actual motor output

I'm riding the Ari Nebo with the Fazua Ride 60 motor. It's rated at a max power of 350W (450W in boost). I almost always ride it here on the Wasatch back (Utah) in the Breeze mode, set at 120w (motor) when I put in 120w. In that setting, I've run several calculations and it seems that in that...

What you want improved on your next SL e-bike

Many many years ago Pirelli had a big advert out for their tyres with their catchphrase being “power is nothing without control”.How true! Yesterday the only way I was able to negotiate up a steep muddy slope was to use eco on my SX bike:not completely a tyre related issue but more motor...

Have Avinox given us a good thing (or not)?

...and go? Probably not and if the system is worth the paper it's printed on, maybe it will become the holy grail of motor systems. I adopted the Fazua system almost instantly because Santa Cruz produced their first SL bike using that system, and while I don't really have regrets with that...

What you want improved on your next SL e-bike

I think the SL category is in the sweet spot when it comes to motors. The TQ HPR60, Bosch SX, and Fazua 60, for example, are powerful enough, and I was blown away by the range of the new TQ motor, which led me to purchase a Propain Sresh SL. &I think the debate often misses the point when...

Which Bosch CX gen 5 settings to match TQ HPR 60?

I ride with Fazua guys and have a similar experience. But I tell ya im not trying very hard on the ups and if I do I leave them in the dust. And I'm on a old e7000 Shimano.

    Maxon Air S 90Nm 620 W, 600/400. + 250Wh extender

The only compromise I read in there is frame stiffness. With regards to batteries flying out - I haven't had that issue and others have also implemented removable batteries without issues. On the contrary, a fixed battery has lots of compromises in my book: - Can't charge the battery off the...

    Maxon Air S 90Nm 620 W, 600/400. + 250Wh extender

I also have a Wild CX-R with a 600wh battery and that's a much better bike for me. I actually really like the Fazua 60, it's the chassis that's the big improvement. Slowing I'm piecing the Relay back together and then I'll sell it off. The issues that I had are primarily the frame is very stiff...

    Maxon Air S 90Nm 620 W, 600/400. + 250Wh extender

Whoever says 20 says 20.99kg, hahaha, the Fazua system adds +/- 4.5kg and there are well-built enduro bikes I've ridden that weighed 20.5-20.7kg. With the Maxon system, with a 600Wh battery, you could definitely get close, although perhaps we should start another philosophical thread about what...

    Maxon Air S 90Nm 620 W, 600/400. + 250Wh extender

Personally, I don't like fixed batteries in the frame, especially if they are small. I ride a Relay with Fazua and a 430 or 480wh battery that's removable. My buddy has a 430wh Decoy, where the battery isn't removable. We went on weekend trips where we'd do a morning and an afternoon session...

    What other bike options?

The Exe would do it but on little support between 80-110% so depends how fit you are. on my Old Exe I'm 110kg and did 32km and 900m of climbing. If you are quite fit and don't mind the effort it will do more. Good info on here >...

    What other bike options?

Similar to what I do on my Rise. That being said, it would be hard to ignore the new Amflow PR for £4K if I was in the market for a new bike. The power would be overkill for me too, but you can always tune it down.

    What other bike options?

...price range, Trek also have the Rail which could be an option. Otherwise there’s a few Santa Cruz Heckler SL in my budget but I’ve not read great things about the Fazua drivetrains. Ideally I probably need something from a shop which is reasonably close for the almost inevitable warranty claims.

Bosch Gen 5 Rumour - More Power updates coming!

Don’t get the ranting of buying a motor separately. Please tell me any of : Brose/ Shimano / Avinox / Fazua / TQ etc that sell a motor ? None ! They all go for replacements and makes sense as they want to see what failed and improve from there . From my POV the scheme behind this update is...

...with the motor orientation in puting the main motor chassis in line with the downtube, pretty much making the motor disappear, kinda like with Fazua did many moons ago with there removable motor platform where you can run the bike without a battery and motor. And the motor silence is...

Voltage is why. There's a minimum number of cells required. The 4680's are limiting that way, in these applications.

...out even faster than I thought we would see. As many have said - it's hard to see how the second and third tier of manufacturers will survive (Fazua, Mahle, Shimano, etc.). Consolidation will accelerate. A lot. 2. Bike brands are a dime a dozen and will struggle ever more: the brands...

Bosch Gen 5 Rumour - More Power updates coming!

...ride. If I turn it down to Eco to give me more range, I think I'm about as fast on my Firebird without the hassle or weight. The way the Fazua delivers its power is really very good, it's a great technical climber. Tight, rooty, steep climbs I could only dream of clearing on an analogue...
