Can I just pull them both from the headtube end, or is there a risk of them getting snagged somewhere as they pass the motor? I'd rather not drop the motor...

I ruined one. Super easy to route with a cable housing rather than the fishing lines. With the line a nightmare.

You can choose cable routing (headset or frame) so yes, it has holes (one in each side as always) in the frame

Seems many folks experienced the same. Mine was relatively easy, only removed 1 bottom pivot axle bolt to loosen Cascade link enough to route cable.
