My Amflow PL Carbon Pro was produced in Aug 2025. I now have 1,700 miles primarily riding rocky terrain in the desert southwest. I have not changed anything except tires, new sprocket and a new chain, everything else is stock. Thankfully I have no cracks on the seat tube and I suspect if it hasn’t happened by now it probably won’t (I hope).

And for the person who thinks you can buy a well kitted M1 Amflow for $3K, I have a bridge in Az I’d like to sell you 🤣. Everyone wants an Amflow but none are available, so trust me if someone has an M1 in great shape they will get WAY more than $3K.

I don't think you'll have any problems. The defect was found in later units.

So, what is the Amflow failure rate? Now I have serious doubts about buying this bike

Who is Ron Hack?

Can anyone else confirm this is a size large issue only?

Is the guy who made the YT video the OP of this thread?

I think he's an importer in the US - I just linked a few places where ingutushuy could look for comments on failures...

Well, yeah, thx for the reply. So i decided to order this bike anyway. I hope that this issue has been resolved and I will enjoy riding it greatly. And I'll rely on my dealer's assistance if anything happens.

Hi, I collected information and found that there were also problems with other sizes. But people also say that this is a small number of failures compared to the huge number of bikes that have been produced.

The dealer is currently asking me to remove the triangle and send it to Amflow, which sounds really bad, as I'll waste a lot of time replacing it during the riding season. This is bad practice on Amflow's part given the high number of defective parts.

The manufacture date on my PL Carbon (size L) was July 15, 2025 - so far, no cracks.
The cracks were discovered in later batches. The first mention was in late 2025. So, I don't think there's anything to worry about in your case.

I keep a cheap spare EMTB, for exactly this situation. If riding is that important to you, that you cannot do without your EMTB. You should do the same.

If you really can only afford one EMTB, and you cannot go without it for short periods. Then unless there was a well stocked dealer mins from home. You shouldn't have bought an Amflow. There are lots of EMTB brands with really fast turn around on repairs. Amflow, in all cases, will not be like this. They are mostly an online presence. Even the dealers mostly have to wait for emails to be replied to, then parts sourced, before they can organise warranty repairs.

My Amflow had the screen go blank. The rest of the bike worked fine. I've put it into my dealer which is 25km away. But I'll still be without it for a few weeks. As long as the bike is repaired, no problem, as I have the spare EMTB.
In my region, it doesn't matter—there are no manufacturer offices at all. So the brand doesn't matter.

I also don't have a lot of space to store bikes, and my family already has three bikes (one for my kid and a hardtail). So keeping two EMTBs isn't an option for me right now.

The situation with Chinese brands is simpler than with European ones due to logistics. Many brands also have more customer-focused policies than Amflow, requiring the part to be destroyed after replacement or not requiring anything at all. In the case of Amflow and the widespread defects, consumers suffered, as Amflow has now started requesting the part back before replacement.

That's pretty common in my experience with other manfacturers. Their engineers can examine it to see why it failed.

Yea its a bummer for you. But if it's dangerous enough that it needs replacing, isn't it too dangerous to ride on?

Actually. Just remembered we aren't supposed to talk about warranty here, so I'll remove my posts.

Hope it all gets sorted (y)

Who is Ron Hack?
Anyone please feel free to correct me, but my understanding is that Ron Hack is a person/business in California who sold Amflow PLs, but his primary business was/is emotos. Importantly, it seemed like he may have been grey marketing them from a source in Asia, and may not have been an "Authorized dealer". From what I see on his website (Amflow), he has no more PLs and there is no mention of now selling PX or PRs, so it seems like his sourcing dried up. Not sure why he couldn't just continue to sell them, sourcing them from their legit USA channels, but maybe the margins weren't as good, or maybe he upset Amflow by going outside their approved channels. At one point, I'd considered buying one from him , as he was the only one I could find who had them in stock at the time, but now am glad that I didn't.

Interesting that what looks to me, a company that appears to have a solid reputation and professional approach to the online market didn't / or wasn't able to continue it's arrangements with Amflow. I had the feeling that Amflow was enabling the channel that Ron Hack was using regardless of official agreements or lack thereof.

Yes, Mr. Hack runs a legitimate dealership in China and has partners in California to manage the local customs and trucking services. He ships to many other countries, likely with similar partnerships. Fun fact: His father, Sur Hack, named him Ron after the popular Surron, so you could say he was born for the job, since he mostly sells Surrons.

The seat tube cracking put a big dent in his business as a popular YouTuber detailed the warranty struggle thru Ronhack, and this was right around the time that people were discovering that Chinese-market bikes were not accepting the new Class 3 (28mph) option that had been added to the US firmware build. Then Amflow suddenly slashed their PL prices in preparation for the PX/PR and Ron's pricing of $2K below MSRP was no longer competitive.

Ron still has Amflow accessories listed and might start selling the new models as they become available but right now there are no Amflows of any type available in the US or on Aliexpress either, so it seems Amflow does not yet have enough inventory to resume grey market sales.

Nope. There is no business of that name registered in California. The website claims that they operate on "Los Angles time." Note the spelling error. Then they have some kind of mumbo-jumbo times that don't make any sense. The web site also claims that they're located in Colorado Springs, and they ramble on about the great riding in their area. Predictably, there is no company by that name registered in Colorado, either. If someone lies to you about their location and identity, and you still do business with them, you deserve whatever film-flam schemes they foist upon you.

That's pure, unadulterated Ħǒřșėśħíť. The Hangzhou Qiulong Technology Co., Ltd. (commonly known as Sur-Ron) was founded in 2014. They started commercial distribution of the Light Bee in 2018, making that the earliest date that the Sur-Ron could be described as "popular." Are you telling us that an eight year old Chinese boy is behind this sham company?

It seems that there's more to @Gauss Guzzler descriptive narrative as the plot thickens and curiosity expands as to just exactly where the "Rob Hack" biography originated.
