I like to flip my bikes over to work on them BMX style, and this activates/ damages my e-bike controllers. Ideas?

Yeah I bought a set of those things years ago. Thought I was going to die having the bars ripped from my hands multiple times every ride.
the small togs style are mounted inboard of the grips

I got these. They work pretty well; just make sure they don't rotate when you're setting the bars down. View attachment 186029
I've got the same ones. They turned up with only 1 of the rubber straps, I reported it missing and sent some photos, they refunded it straight away, didnt ask me to return them. I had a rubber strap in the shed from an old rear light that fit, so I got them for free.

Is that a thing?

You often see bikes in maintenance stands clamped by the seat post, and I hang mine by the seat to work on it indoors.
It is now because it’s on the internet. Bend a dropper?
It holds you on top of your bike. Sometimes at speed.
It will now bend if you put your bike upside down or hang it from the saddle?

This is not a thing.

If dropper post were bending during service, maintenance or repair, I’m sure the dropper manufacturers would send out a bulletin. I’ve never seen a bulletin. 🤷🏼‍♂️

But I have seen a few bent dropper posts after a crash. I don’t personally hang my bike by the post with the clamp. I use a Saris bar under the stem and seat…only because the bike balances better during maintenance. I don’t clamp the top-tube of a carbon frame bike.

Imagine the amount of force inflicted during a ride on a dropper. That’s far greater than hanging your bike by the post or seat, like local Bike Shop’s do.

These look interesting! Kill 2 birds in one shot: relax your grip and protect controls👍

I've started using a 'Saris bar' again for exactly that reason. (y)
Yeah 👍🏻, only takes a few seconds to hang the bike in the stand that way. My bike lives there.
During regular maintenance I just roll up on the stool, grab a few tools, start up my favourite ABBA song and switch on the disco ball. 😎

Qualche idea? Grazie

That's some over thinking and over engineering. I just have my controller loose enough that twist it a little be and it doesn't hit the ground. It literally takes 2 seconds prior to the flip......

I cut a couple of 1.5 inch wide strips off the end of wife's old exercise mat, rolled them into coils with central holes large enough to go over bar grips, then fastened with some Gorilla tape. Works fine.

I wish it was that easy. Some Kiox controllers have a rubber spacer for the bar clamp. It’s almost impossible to rotate un-less you (almost) completely loosen the clamp.

I have broken the Kiox controller clamp after flipping the bike once. That was a pita and a new controller and cable was about $80.

Whoever had the pool-noodle idea is probably a genius. I’m probably going to go that route. If I cut the noodles to 4” lengths I’ll have some extra for Xmas and birthday gifts. 😉

I have a nice bike stand, unfortunately it's tough to carry any of these solutions on my bike rides which is when I typically flip my bikes over for maintenance.

Thinking I might just remove the e-bike switch from the handlebars to solve the damage issue entirely.

It's a bit of a bosch issue, mainly.
Their remote is particularly poorly shaped for it, due to the switch protruding from the face of the remote.
The avinox ones have a bit of a "hood" on them that keeps the switches from being damaged or activated.
