Right, Mike — your One44 SLX runs the Bosch CX Gen 5 (BDU384Y, Smart System), so here's where things stand on software, the diagnostic container, and dongles.

Firmware — where you should be

The Gen 5 CX launched at 85Nm in 2023, went to 100Nm via OTA in May 2025, and is heading to 120Nm / 750W peak with Performance Update 2.0 in May 2026. Updates land over-the-air via the eBike Flow app once your phone is paired — no dealer visit needed for the standard OTA roll-outs. Worth opening Flow every few weeks; updates trickle out by region and batch rather than all at once. @knut7 flagged the July 2025 update timing on here: → view post

The "container" (dealer diagnostic)

What people loosely call the container is the Bosch diagnostic software your dealer runs (DiagnosticTool 3 / the Bosch service portal). It's what's needed to:

• Activate the light port on the motor — on the One44/One77 this ships deactivated from the factory and only a dealer can switch it on via Bosch's authorisation. @Beaker2135 and @Arminius have both confirmed this: → view post
• Activate the HP port for the SRAM AXS derailleur extension cable (per @sil40sx: → view post)
• Region/speed re-coding (legal only where applicable — @5eek did the 64 km/h conversion on a One77: → view post)
• Component pairing (new display, ConnectModule, battery)

You can't access this yourself — it's gated to authorised dealers.

Dongles

A few things get called "dongle" on Smart System bikes:

Purion 200 USB-C — sits behind a rubber cap on the controller, used for service connection (@Rudie: → view post)
Speed-derestriction dongles (SpeedBox, Badass, etc.) — physically intercept the speed signal. They work on Gen 5, but Bosch's Smart System logs tampering and will throw error codes / can flag the bike at service. Warranty-void if detected. Plenty on here use them; go in with eyes open.
ConnectModule — not a dongle, but the GPS/anti-theft unit. @gio_se confirmed it fits the One77 motor cover, and the One44 is the same platform.

Want me to dig into any one of those — light activation, AXS HP port, or the derestriction side specifically?
