Article Video: Teewing Flux 180mm, high-pivot, Avinox EMTB first look and ride

My Flux is in Canberra. Pushys have refunded my delivery fees, and given me $250 of store credit. Plus another $75 credit for buying the bike. I am a very happy boy.

Pickup Sunday, as I'm hosting a big ride in Sydney on Saturday. They have offered to assemble it but I have asked for them to leave it in the box, for ease of loading in the car. And I don't trust anyone to touch it.

So far. Very impressed with Pushys customer service, especially in comparison with my LBS who delivered my Amflow. They were dreadful.

This Teewing experience has been fantastic so far.
Congrats on the new bike. I am waiting on a large from Pushys. How came they gave you so much back? I just got a 100 dollar credit for the delay. Curious if they will offer more :-)

Did your large get delayed too? I had a frameset on order, might be end of month apparently, same for you?
Some of us in NSW are traveling to Canberra to pick the frames/bikes up as the NSW certification isnt finalized, so they offered some store credit to cover fuel and time :)

The $250 is for driving from Sydney to Canberra to pick it up. I have an electric car and solar, so it's effectively costing me nothing, as I'm staying in Canberra overnight at a mates who is letting me recharge at his home. But I didn't tell Pushys that.

BTW. Whilst I'm here. Ride Wrap has sent me an email saying they aren't manufacturing my clear protection wrap till early June. So whilst I'm happy to ride the bike locally without the protection. There's be no taking it on technical trails till June.

So those looking to wrap their Fluxs. Order the protection early. This goes world wide, as invisiframe is not offering the wrap for the Flux.

Does anyone already have a size M? How much does it weigh? Will a 200mm seatpost fit?

Shared to a pleasant worthwhile conversation with Pushy's, actually a two part discussion, but one was regarding the Flux frame and shock purchase combo..... as the frame shock comb image presented on Pushys website and well looked to be offered here in Australia paired with the Fox X2.

The news dropped that the Frames and shock combo here in Oz was and now intended to be paired with the Ohilins TTX2 m2 air.

To be honest yes rather pleased, l was to add my Ohlins coil to the mix.... well, yeah all in all good choices to be had 😀🤙⚡

Yeah my large has been delayed too. Meant to arrive before I leave back to Europe in early June. Pushys also rang me about the Ohlins, super nice guy and great customer service. Thanks for the info about those extra discounts - works well for those of you picking up in Canberra. Looking forward to hear more of the ride reviews. Bloke from Pushys said he had been riding his for 2 months - says it rides super planted but isn’t as natural to jump. So sounds similar to the reviews of the velduro - very planted and great in the chunk

Yep, got the call too, super nice guy from Pushys. I’m not keen on the Ohlins so will go without a shock. Be interesting what compensation is offered, I’m hoping full RRP of the cost of purchasing an X2.

Yeah sounds like we spoke with the same bloke at Pushys, spoke to genuine appeal.
He mentioned jumping takes a little change to adapt as the axel path growth tends to perform to its HP, l guessed its path behaviour compressing into the faces of jumps.

I got talking recently to a guy riding a Forbidden, he found by reworking on the rebound settings helped liven up the HP, and still maintained to body bike composure, so l assume without kicking forward behaviour from leaving the face of jumps.

Yeah settings up all good times, part of the journey!

Yeah the Ohlins took to applied effort, much perseverance gone in using the Springdex to balance settings and the dampening, never tried Ohlins air, but thought to nudge it over the X2

I got an ext on another bike and this shock is above all else, in some ways it seems to know me examined to rider input, all surprising to its enhancement to adapt to trail conditions very well, shame its of a different eye to eye.

What do you recon will be your shock of choice mate and any preferences with coil, air.

Never did get the axle path kinematics graph for all the setting combinations from Teewing. My guess is axle path for mixed mode may be exaggerated, just by looking at the swingarm length. Were they testing mixed wheels on the mixed setting?

My plan was to run the DHX2 off my Spesh enduro on the Flux and put the X2 on the Spesh. I’ve spent too much time mucking around with air shocks just to put a coil on it feel 10x better immediately. Not to mention the reliability issues I’ve had with the previous gen X2s, but that sounds like it’s been fixed with the 2025 update.

It's here. Cost me $7.14 at the Tesla Supercharger to fetch it. Got a $250 store credit for fetching it ...... The joy of Teewing Flux ownership continues .....

The Flux was set up 29 front and back....

Got to say. After running the Magura MT7s on the Amflow. I'm not a huge fan of the Mavens on the Flux. There may be a brake upgrade in the future.

Meanwhile. Progress is getting there. Still got the fork and rear wheel to go. But the design on the shock turned out super nice.

And the SRAM S1000 AXS Electronic Transmission has been fitted and the Smoothshift is working nicely.

Mottled in olive green be ok to but yeah nice to see some new colour flare.

I'm wondering is there a specific shock that is tuned for the Flux, or are they all going to come with an off the shelf tune and we're just gonna have to figure it out on our own.

My money is on off the shelf tune.

If shock were custom tuned, would the shock then be tuned orientated around a required setting, either set in high or set in low corresponding with one the flip chip settings..... one being linear the other progressive ?

As I want my Flux mostly for descending ride days. I have set my flip chip to low. I'm just going to set my sag, and I normally run rebound a little slower than rated, for my descend rides. If I'm happy. I'll leave it there. If not, I might look at taking it to a suspension specialist. But I have never needed to previously.

Nearly finished. Just one more fork stanchion to do.

BTW. I ended up taking the rear wheel and chainring spider to a local bike store to remove the rear cassette, and remove the chainring bolts. Couldn't for the life, of me get them off.

Charged me AUD$50 to do it, which didn't impress me, but he did say both items had lots of Loctite, which was very stubborn to remove. So be aware when you want to change these items.

Looks great, bet it's going to ride equally as good to, 27 wheel in 29 setting.

Edrip website says they are in Canton, GA just NW of Atlanta. I lived there for 20 years before moving down here to South Florida area. If anyone ever decides to go to that shop, make sure to check out a really awesome trail system called Blankets Creek one of the best in Georgia. It’s in Canton also.

I was all but waiting on the Amflow PR carbon, but the turbo force has me thinking hard about it also. 55M little bigger rider 183cm 103 kg and honestly both these bikes are probably way above my rider pay grade. I’m average at best. Currently riding ibis Ripley AF, but would like a mullet version to be a little snappier and I prefer not to have my heart rate at 170 all ride along lol. Most of my rides are down here 1 to 2 hours 2 to 3 times a week not a lot of climbing or steep descents just blues and black diamonds. A few drops a lot of features… I’m assuming both those bikes would be great for that.

What's the final weight, with/without pedals?
