Last week I experienced two annoying , and different mechanical sounds, within minutes of each other, while riding to the trail-head and only under torque conditions.
Great

. Our dry and hot weather has finally caught up to me. I pulled over to the side of the pavement and started my search. Nothing found. I continued on and the sound amplified.(to me anyway).
When I returned home, after a few hours, I began my search. Safe in the bike cave, bike in the stand, surrounded by my lotions and potions specifically for mountain bikes.
After some investigation i found two issues. Front calliper misalignment and the right side magnetic pedal. I fixed the calliper alignment issue and then started disassembling the pedal.
Wow! Dry as a bone. No grease and the needle bearings were rusted. This was totally my fault. My maintenance routine was obviously lacking. However there was a glimmer of light …time for some new and updated magnetic peddles …right.
I glanced over their website and found some slight improvements and a variety of new colours were now available. Similar price as before but still pricey. I emailed the company and asked for a quote to deliver these pedals to my location, Coquitlam Canada.
Now I understand that there is difference in the dollar and shipping can be complicated sometimes. No problem. But Tariffs on this product could apply so the company reduced the price. Perhaps to compensate for the increase in price due to Tariffs.
I’ll try not to get political …but the Mango Menace strikes again.
I’ll respond back to the company via email and decline the offer. I’ll either wait for a few years, rebuild the peddles myself, change my technique or find another source in a friendly country.
