It sounds like the 230x60 2025 Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate will fit, but I'm looking for the full breakdown with owner data from people who've done exactly this swap. Specifically will this standard eyelet shock fit or does it have to be a thru shaft/trunnion version?

I believe a 230 length shock is always standard. There is no such thing as a 230 length trunnion shock.

This is great, super helpful! AI search results were telling me I would need a trunnion mount for this specific bike, it must have been confusing it with other Trek Rail models that do have trunnion shocks. Now I just need to figure out if the piggyback air can will have clearance from my frame...has anyone out there installed a Super Deluxe Ultimate on their medium Trek Rail 7? Sounds like the 2025 was designed with the piggyback mounted higher up to help with clearance issues.
