Does anyone know of a good video that shows the proper way to open up the gen3 motor.
It seems to be a bit noisier than when I first got it and wanted to check the belt too.
It‘s got about 1700 miles on it and about 70 charge cycles so it might be time anyway.
Dropping and unconnecting the motor itself isn’t an issue.
Five or six bolts holding the two side’s together and maybe a screw for the tensioner is what to expect?
Any tips from guys that have actually split the case would be great.

Looking to be proactive instead of reactive.
Thanks gents.

This is the only mag motor video I have seen.

I will watch this thread as I am with you, I like the idea of being proactive.

Fantaistic, thanks for the link to the video.
After watching that I feel pretty confidant in opening up the motor for a visual check.
Loved the guys attitude!

I sent a message to an e bike motor shop in Tenn. here in the US and they basically said to send it to them for any work I wanted done on it.

No help as far as info on DIY work.
They do sell kits with bearings, belts etc so I guess I’ll see about ordering up what I think is correct items and when I recieved them I will go from there.

Good ol youtube.

I'm with you. I reached out to them as well. They basically said to send it in. I'm not ready to just ship something that works in. They never did send me a quote on the work I wanted done on a working motor. An FYI. The guy in that video will answer your questions if you post a question. Again, I'm with you. I want to do some proactive cleaning on internals. I just did a complete repacking on the suspension and wheel bearings. They were not bad, but they were not packed for grease very well. Just an FYI if you plan on keeping your rig rolling for awhile.

The shop I mentioned earlier in Tenn. I sent them a follow up message on selecting the correct parts/ belt to swap out myself and never heard back from them.
I will try once more after that I guess I can go through my local shop to order what I think Ineed.
Don’t really want to open up the motor unless I have at least a new belt.
Not sure if my 23’ model has the fiberglass belt or the latest carbon fiber belt.

Another video I watched the guy said to use Vaseline to fully coat the belt when installing, the bloke in the UK video didn’t use any on his install.

If you have the 2.2 mag motor in yours, which I beleive you do, they came with the new belt. And yes, use Vaseline if you install a new one. IIf you search, I posted about installing some x-rings on the peddle crank shaft to help keep grit and water out of the drive. If you can't find it, let me know.

Just recieved a text from the E-bike Motor Repair shop and they verified the correct belt kit to order for my motor.
Placed my order about 10 min ago.
Looks like it comes with a new seal, belt, gasket and bolts but I will keep your info on the aftermarket seals I got from your thread posting In any case, more info is better.
Waiting on some spokes as well to build up a set of carbon rims I just picked up.
Wait, wait, wait.
Gonna go for a ride.
Thanks all for the input.
