My third motor that was covered under warranty, was set at 500W from Shimano. So the factory has been shipping some of these motors out set too 500W.
I dug around and others confirmed i was not the only one, in the German forums, they reported multiple units shipped set at 500w
Well that does not leave you with much ammo for the discussion.
The new motors are running 150nm and 1500w and im running 1000w 120nm. And it flat tears up your gear if you ride hard.
last two years i almost rode professionally. Meaning I lived to ride. 9500+ miles and 1,300,000' in elevation...
We sold 8 of these bikes to friends. Under 500 miles most do not show any issue, after that it varies. Over 1000 miles they all shut off randomly.
It is not moisture related, took me a year to figure this out. Not washing the bike and not having as many shut downs was a failed idea. Because...
The problem here is the new Ebike power output is overkill for Ttype chains and cassettes.
I wear out cassettes long before the chain ever gets worn. The last 10 chains ive gone through, and not one of them was out of spec.
If you are an eco warrior or ride slow, yes you can get stupid miles...
Did you comprehend the whole Shimano aspect of my statement?
But as far as Ttype goes you are dead wrong. The motor is connected to the shifting and it is not independent. Probably came out after you made your post.
I have seen shimano replacement motors set st 500W from the factory. I have a feeling the Shimano techs knew something the sales dpt did not know.
Only way to find out, is to set a motor to max 500w with the shimano computer and see if we get loss of power.
Loss of power can come from 4...
Motor side cause ore issues than Battery side. Frequent loss of power and engine system powering down has not been solved. I have seen the motor side with melting plastic on the female side and discolored pins on the motor side. But there is probably battery side resistance complicating the...
Best replacement spokes are custom spokes on Ebay from a seller named ""childhood_dreams"" He uses 2.2 X 1.7 X 2mm which are close to factory specs but stronger. I trust him.
Spoke length on PL PRO is actually 298mm from Amflow. But I measured and replaced mine with 299mm. Funny thing is the stock spokes usually break at the nipple where the spoke goes from 1.6mm to 2mm at the threads.
I swear mine were not silver, and looked like carbon rods. Will take pictures if i ever get in there again. I have not seen this 3rd motor however, nor did I pay a lot attention to the first, they replaced that one at 1800 miles. I was all over the second motor like a dirty shirt. I cleaned...
No idea, I thought they were all black, im on third motor in two years, and the first two were dark gray/black pins.Have no looked at this new motor yet
