Strive:on vs Trek Rail - anyone?

Heyhey! I'm considering these two bikes, and wonder if anyone has ridden both and can compare them? I guess the geometry of the Rail makes it a little more sluggish for my 183-184cm in Large, but how much? I guess I'd go with the medium Strive:on, if I go that route. I had the previous...

Fuel EXe TREK's new lightweight trail ebike

Could anyone chech the clearance between seatstay-bridge and frame when the shock is fully compressed? I am thinking of getting this bike and put on a shock with longer stroke to get more travel in the rear.

    Trouble-record!? Anyone better?

Some of it is to the spec, as with the cranks and and knock block, some of it is because of Trek Rail, some of it is Bosch, some of it is probably because of the weight of the ebike. And some of it is because I did some mistakes, for instance that it took me some time to realize that I need...

    Trouble-record!? Anyone better?

I had a Trek Rail 7 for almost a year. I had this problems: -New motor on warranty. Probably because of riding in a lot of really wet weather. -Broke one of the cooling fins on the new motor. -New battery on warranty. -Cracked motor-cover. -Rounded one of the biggest motor-bolts. -Bent a crank...

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

I have the Rail 7, without the triunnion mount, so I could just use the same hardware. So I don't know. But someone else probably does. What is 'pins'?

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

Thanks for thorough reply. Guess I just misunderstood your first post slightly.

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

A couple of questions: -Right preload? From what I have heard/read, you shall use as little preload as possible. -I think you are the first person I have ever hard saying that more compression can result in a plusher ride feel. Is this your experience or just some kind of "philosophy"? I think...

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

Thanks for input! If I'll have to ride with a 550 spring and a lot of damping, I would say some of the benefits of using a coil disappears.Anyway. I gave up, and am going to sell the coil. I have a X2 2021 on the way.

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

Huck to flat. Actually down some stairs with 3 'levels'. Not that it means too much, since I don't normally ride jumps. But for a reference I have never before noticed bottoming out on air shocks before. That being said, when I tried to add 5 clicks of HSC from where I was, made some...

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

Thanks. But I percieve the problem is not just at the end, but the last half of the stroke. Maybe I will give it a try.

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

I'm beginning to have doubt's about coil shocks. Does anyone find that the DHX2 bottoms out too easily? I have have been experimenting with different springs and still think the shock goes through the travel too fast. I'm about 87 kg fully equipped. I started with a 450 spring. That was...

    Will a fox dpx2 2018 230x60 fit my trek rail 9.8

It fits. 230x60 is not a normal triunion size. Some Tail models have triunion top mount, some not. Just compare the different models at trek.com

Geometry change with 170mm and DHX2 65 fit

Thanks. I just innstalled the DHX2 with the 450 spring myself. I´m 80kg plus equipment. The spring was cleary too light for me. I felt several bottom out´s, and it felt like the shock didn´t have to much reserves when it got rowdy. Gonna try 475 and 500.

Geometry change with 170mm and DHX2 65 fit

Do you find that the extra length does something to the progression and the end of the travel?

Geometry change with 170mm and DHX2 65 fit

Are you basing on the geo sheet? Because it seems to me that they are not really accurate. See mbr latest article on the slash, where they actually measured the angles, and found it to be off by some margin. I haven't checked the charts pn the rail with 160mm and 170 mm forks, but I wouldn.t...
