WARNING! To Bosch powered ebike owners (pre 2020)

Heard from Bosch- apparently there was never a rolling 2 month warranty, however the motors were replaced as a gesture of goodwill. Here's hoping I remain in their good books ;)

WARNING! To Bosch powered ebike owners (pre 2020)

Thanks for this Just had mine replaced under warranty, must be one of the last ones fitted to a bike sold new last year! they come with a 2 year warranty though right? So to confirm: removal of the felt will not affect warranty (I find this hard to believe?) the alternative, replacement part...

WARNING! To Bosch powered ebike owners (pre 2020)

thanks for this info. 2 questions- removal of felt ring- I presume it has to be replaced with an alternative part rather than just remove it and carry on if an alternative part has to be fitted such as your mudstop, will fitting this personally void the warranty? If no, are they easy to fit...

Unanswered Rear hub and cassette kaput, warranty not convering? BS?

Thanks both. You're right, I get the two statury instruments mixed up. Turns out I bought the bike in Junly last year and it was feb that they failed, so it is within the 6 month period. The issue is, the Warranty states 1 year on parts. Bearings in the hub fell to bits, and all but one of...

Unanswered Rear hub and cassette kaput, warranty not convering? BS?

Hi folks, My stock formula hub and SRAM NX cassette both failed in spectacular fashion recently, I have been told by bike shop that they will not be covered by warranty despite being only 7 months old. Is this standard fair or some sort of BS? I am aware that under sale of goods act parts...

    performance line CX sounds...'dry'

Thanks for the advice all. Have contacted my LBS who will get a new motor on warranty. Will also look into getting a mud stopper seal as recommended. FYI it's a gen 2, I'm told by the LBS that this is a common fault.

is there any provision in the warranty against this? its just over 6 months old and only had a few hunded miles put onto it. shameful design if this is the case!

    performance line CX sounds...'dry'

Hi folks I took my bike out yesterday after a 2 or 3 week period of no riding as the weather has been foul. the motor was making a very loud whirring sound, akin to bearings or gears that are devoid of grease or lubricant- i noted this first when testing the gears in walk mode, but from then...

    Bosch Long-Term Reviews And Recommendations

So far, pretty good. I had some concerns over some of the noises the unit was making when I first got it as it made a slight clunk but I believe that is just the clutch mechanism inside engaging. I have done about 300kms on it so far and it still feels good and solid, I'm mainly hill bashing...

    Bosch Long-Term Reviews And Recommendations

Interesting read and experiences. How many miles are/were/have you done between fault intervals? Also I presume your riding is not particularly harsh, although being rigid I guess the motor is more susceptible to damage anyway?

Chatsworth area rider exploring local trails

haha oops. Thanks for this info. I managed to get into Manners Woods and had a lot of fun on the sanctioned tracks (you'll know the steep uphill at the end of Coombs road, and a really steep washed out downhill at the opposite end which were awesome) but steered clear of the trail which is...

Kona Owners...Show your bikes & talk Kona

thought I replied to this ages ago but clearly not! I'm not quite up there but at 6'4 and 110kgs with gear on, I've seen my way through several rims and back in the day, bottom brackets (when they were ISIS splined internal bearings etc). The WTB rims look burly as anything so I had thought they...
