Heard from Bosch- apparently there was never a rolling 2 month warranty, however the motors were replaced as a gesture of goodwill.

removal of felt ring- I presume it has to be replaced with an alternative part rather than just remove it and carry on
if an alternative part has to be fitted such as your mudstop, will fitting this personally void the warranty? If no, are they easy to fit...

My stock formula hub and SRAM NX cassette both failed in spectacular fashion recently, I have been told by bike shop that they will not be covered by warranty despite being only 7 months old.
Is this standard fair or some sort of BS? I am aware that under sale of goods act parts...
Thanks for the advice all. Have contacted my LBS who will get a new motor on warranty. Will also look into getting a mud stopper seal as recommended.
FYI it's a gen 2, I'm told by the LBS that this is a common fault.

I took my bike out yesterday after a 2 or 3 week period of no riding as the weather has been foul.
the motor was making a very loud whirring sound, akin to bearings or gears that are devoid of grease or lubricant- i noted this first when testing the gears in walk mode, but from then...
So far, pretty good. I had some concerns over some of the noises the unit was making when I first got it as it made a slight clunk but I believe that is just the clutch mechanism inside engaging.
I have done about 300kms on it so far and it still feels good and solid, I'm mainly hill bashing...

How many miles are/were/have you done between fault intervals? Also I presume your riding is not particularly harsh, although being rigid I guess the motor is more susceptible to damage anyway?
