Na i think they are legit. Had a WhatsApp talk with them about the issue with the current firmware and they replied:

There wouldn't be the need to reinvent the motor, they could just implement a cage damper for the outer sprag clutch like the Bosch Gen 5 has. This thing doesn't need much room and its the only method for making the motor rattle free imho.

I can confirm for the amflow PL a simple shifter cable and housing is sufficient. Its just important that the metal wires in the housing is parallel to the pulling cable and not a spiral one (less flex).

More than 3000km for now, the lockring hasn't budged so far.
