That's the way I wired the front light into my sduro. I did order a male plug to suit the existing female one but was sent another female. Strip, twist and solder so it's less likely to cause problems later.
I sympathise with your feelings regarding Facebook, it's a largely vile construct with very few redeeming features but there are some groups made up of reasonably mature individuals. It just takes a bit of searching to find them.
The battery issue is a thing apparently. There is some adjustment on the connector plate but I think Haibike supply shims to space the relevant parts properly. There's more about it on the Facebook Haibike owners page.
This is my sduro in its current guise, first outing to Learnie and the shortcomings of the brakes were highlighted in dramatic fashion. Bigger front rotor on its way now, I'll see what that does before looking at better calipers and master cylinders.

Is that just a pop on/off set up on the cover? I can see how it might come off if you're giving it some but the Velcro idea might be enough to sort it. I've got the older sliding metal catch on mine and it's a royal pita. Definitely needed some sort of new arrangement.
