I bought a Yamaha Ydx Moro 1 year old with 217 miles on it for $3700. A great bike for the price.
Yamaha has a 3 year transferable warranty on the frame, battery, and motor so I felt very comfortable pulling the trigger. I haven't heard of a better warranty yet.
My routine ride is about 12 miles with 1800-2000 ft of climbing at 10 mph average speed and avg bpm of about 139. I'll use about 50-60% of the battery. Id figure 25-30 miles tops once your skills develop unless the ride is relatively flat.
I have a Yamaha ydx Moro and love it! Theres not a better bike for the price, imo.The only criticism about the geometry I've heard is about the long chain stay length. But so what, my understanding is that makes the bike very stable going downhill and keeps the front end on the ground on steep...
I have a Yamaha with the same motor. Until you said you have not had any error codes I thought I had answer for you.
You might try this anyway. I was having shutdown problems and would get error code 71. Took it to the shop under warranty. They applied Dielectric grease to the connections...
Found a Garmin Edge 830, retail $400. It was sitting on a post at a lightly used trail entrance and I left it there. Two days later it was still there so I took it and made attempts to find the owner. There was no info in the unit, which could have been entered, I called Garmin, they couldnt...
Yes, you can do it yourself. I converted my Revelation into a Pike Ultimate at the same time I did my first 500 mile service. Between RockShox videos and written instructions you'll be fine, just take your time.
From the website, take another look. Maybe you can show why you think the price isnt high for such a "bike". There are many companies making adventure e fat bikes that will do the same thing that "bike" does for half that price or less.
Not sure why you would doubt the recommendation from a company with Yamahas' reputation. I tried the dense rubber pads first before getting the dielectric grease recommendation.
The rubber helped but I still had frequent shutdowns.
An engineer friend of mine explained that dielectric grease...
THIS^^^ worked for me . Applied dielectric grease to the connectors between the battery and motor and tightened the battery with a few pieces of dense rubber. I went from having shutdowns every other ride to none since applying the grease. Its been four months and I ride about three days a week...
