I think both can have the good and the bad. Specialized being a larger bike company might have a little better ability to take care of things, but that's just my thoughts. I've never had to deal with warranty issues on my Rise and I've never had a specialized bike, so I really have no experience.

40lbs?? Not a chance. 19Kg by the way is closer to 42lbs. 41.8lbs to be exact. MAYBE they could get a super light H build close to that, but it would be a stretch. Probably closer to 44lbs which is within the range of "claimed manufacturer weights" and the real world. Bikes are always lighter...

I agree. This is very annoying to not be able to get a definitive answer as to placement of the crank arms in relation to the hole. Should we take a poll and go by majority rule or just flip a coin? Does it really matter. Probably not.
