It's still one of the best parts on bike I own :- ). Honestly both benefits are amazing: my prostate health uphill ;- ) and downhill-level angle for ultimate control downhill. Anyone who thought it's gimmick is insane. Year and half later, I still love it.
I think most people from US are unaware their 1UP-style racks are mostly illegal in EU&UK. They could be re-engineered to add lights and plate, in fact you can do such modifications yourself, even install US square hitch but you will find it used against you in accident by insurance since the...
If after 6 years majority of reviewers can't decide whether Zeb or 38 is their favourite (though it skews towards the 38 among the "mid-support" crowd, ie: Seb Stott from Pinkbike, Jonathan from Blisterreview,etc..) I would absolutely not stress it.
Forks with additional price tag (RFX38, EXT)...
Bare in mind with stock oil in fork & shock the rebound is going to be quite off during Winter. In shock, the oil heats up enough but fork will stay slow in winter unless you change for much lower viscosity. 38 tends to sit slightly lower perceptively lowering stack, I personally like my S3 KSL...
I don't guarantee all these numbers, but this is configuration I used before I converted mine S3. It should (if I input all correctly), feature 170mm ZEB fork, HighBB setting and default neutral middle angle on front.
With that said, with Mullet, BB Drop is kinda meaningless value since it's...
Based on your name, I presume your KSL is already mulleted :- ) ? If not, then mullet is good part of possible solution.
Other is, how long have you had each? Every new bike feels much better. (novelty, freshly setup suspension, fresh tyres,...).
With that said, it will always be 20kg plushy...
Dealer in my country (Slovakia, Slovkolex) just expensively serviced my X2, but didn't do (or even offer) any upgrade with the few internals.
And by "serviced" I mean it was squelching like bottle of shampoo already from the cavitation. Came back silent and well working.
But yeah, all these...
Where would this technical miracle honestly come from :- ) ? Not disputing it's torquey (higher limit) and more silent (better casing), but there is no internal change apparently that would achieve efficiency difference.
Efficiency difference is rather moot in between different engines across...
For 300 or 600 USD, you might as well buy some nice Lego for Christmas or Hope brakes :- ). 90perc. of crank strikes are about riding technique (timing, position,..).
Also the Praxis carbon cranks are legendary in the worst way possible.
I've run my KSL in Mullet (Neutral headset, 170mm ZEB...
They weight as little as 12KG when made by Gustav Dangerholm :- ) And average enduro accoustic bike is 15kg now with solid tyres @ 29" wheels, even at S-Works prices.
But perhaps we'll all ride Pi-Rope wheelsets by then :- )
I have to say the glossy finish on my black KSL is so thick and durable that after two years and frequent crashing it still looks brand new. My Sram Codes look like they are from trashbin though, and my Zeb stanchions are scratched, but fixed with nail color, works like nothing happened.
But...
Come to think of it, it's often interesting how many people on forums (people I presume are often closer to higher weight, 90+ kg) often struggle with Enduro bikes that come with X2 unless it's some very progressive bike (very few are, like YT, Unno, Pole,etc.. but def not...
I got my X2 from SC Nomad take-off. Before I bought it, I compared the leverage curves which I didn't find different enough to warrant issue and presumed the tune would be similar.
The Specialized KSL X2 "RX" Tune was harder to decipher as it doesn't come with Code you can just identify on Fox's...
