    New lid time

I use the Bell Super DH - it is a convertible and I love it! Good ventilation, MIPS, and pretty light. That new Super Air R linked above looks really nice too.

Share your Giant Trance e+ climbing set-ups, techniques and experiences.

I cant comment on the different gear options but I must say I am always blown away by the climbing ability of my e+1. Like you say, keeping it in a medium power setting and staying seated, while using the bigger gears, is the best approach i have found. As soon as I stand up I will lose...

    Trance handlebar control units

I agree with the above, unless you are planning on racing I dont think knowing all the fine details is of any benefit. I have the standard simple control unit and I dont crave for any further info, I think the app can record some extra bits for you but I must admit, i connected the app to the...

He is probably just talking about the way the battery can be difficult to remove from the bike, sometimes the locking mechanism has to be adjusted so that the latch that holds the battery on the bike disengages fully and you can remove the battery. I have an E+1 and E+3, the E+3 is a bit...

I have the Kuat NV2.0 and its a great bit of kit. Easily carries 2x Giant Trance E+, I take the batteries out to be on the safe side. You can also get an extender to carry up to 4 bikes. Its not cheap but its a quality product.

    Hi from SE Queensland, Australia

Hey Paul, That is a pretty fancy hub, I didnt even know they made hubs with internal gearing. Really cleans up the back end of the bike. Are these Rohloff hubs available to the public in Australia? The website seems to state that it is distributed to manufactures only? I found this on YouTube...

It's not a bad idea tbf, not sure if it would have any effect on the motor by changing the front gearing though. I'm based in Brisbane.

How long should a cassette last?

@Gary thanks for the informative post, certainly a lot to consider. It would be nice to see some more ebike specific cassettes that can stand up to the wearing.

How long should a cassette last?

I am hoping for more than 1000km out of the new cassette as I can do that in a single month if I ride everyday. I live in Brisbane so it’s hardly ever wet here, and I clean my bike after every off-road session. Every time I clean I also use Muc-off dry lube on the chain. Maybe there is a better...

How long should a cassette last?

So just had my Giant Trance E+1 in the bike shop because my chain was slipping when applying firm pressure to the peddles in the hardest, and second hardest gear. The bike shop said the cassette was worn out on these two gears and has replaced the SRAM PG1230, 11-50T, 12sp, with a like for like...

I got a call from FTR today and they have told me that my ''clunk'' was coming from a worn out cassette, specifically the two hardest gears, so the chain was slipping when I was applying pressure to the peddles. They have said the hub looks fine. So they have replaced the cassette with a...
