What brakes rotor are you running?

I’ve just bent the rear rotor on my Merida e160 and replaced it with a Swissstop rotor. It’s great but the problem was what to do about the magnet. For now I’ve just epoxyed a magnet to the rotor but planning a more robust solution with a thin sheet of titanium.

There is a very good argument for putting the larger disc on the back. Bigger disc doesn’t affect power just heat dissipation, which brake do you use most on a long descent?

The best hardcore ebike routes in the Lake District (with no hike-a-bike)

I’ve been planning to to that route; do you mean past Skiddaw House and up past that way? (I need to get the map out!)

    Threlkeld 9.4.22.

I’ve just invested in that exact setup after running out of battery twice around the 15 mile mark. I am a big guy and was riding steep technical terrain in cold weather, but still wanted more range than that (after all, that’s one of the main reasons I bought an eMTB).

Sounds great, hope to catch you guys another time.

Would have liked to join you but only just seen this. I've ridden the Lonscale crags paths both ways a number of times on my eMTB. Got to admit there are a couple of points I have yet to clear but most of it is rideable. Finishing a ride with a blast down Lattrigg is fun (watching out for...

Riese & Muller Delite Mountain Rohloff - anyone had any experience with one?

Just catching up on this thread; I’m interested in retrofitting a Rohloff and belt drive setup to my full sus ebike. I was concerned about mud but it sounds like this is ok. My other concern is the extra weight of the rear hub (there are some pretty rocky trails round my way). How have you found it?

    Merida Battery Cover

I like this idea. I had strapped my spare tube to the top tube where it meets the seat tube, but it slid forward and knocked the shock lever. This solves 2 problems at once.

    Removing front light e160 8000

I did this today and it was easier than I thought. Just remove the small plastic cover on the non-drive side of the motor, then undo the 2 silver screws holding the cable. Pull the cable back through (you’ll need to loosen the 4 bolts holding the cables on the inside of the downtube). Put it all...

    Removing front light e160 8000

I’m in the same situation. I’ve put my own stem and bars on so had to bodge a clamp for the light from an old reverb control clamp but personally I would rather remove it altogether.

    Crossed over to eMTB

Been mountain biking for over 30 years. Due to a number of injuries slowing me down I’ve just crossed over and bought myself a Merida e160 9000 to breathe new life into my MTBing. I normally build my bikes from bare frame so had to change a few components over to make it mine.
