Hi from sunny yorkshire
Well i haven't bought a bike yet and would like any suggestions i used to have a cheap hardtail rear hub drive a few years back for commuting to work and looking for a mid drive fs this time. I have looked at and changed my mind on about half a dozen bikes in the last couple of months. On monday i settled on a Giant stance E+1 in small and ordered it i decided to pay half and finance the other half just so i didn't have to pay the full £2720(sale price) in one go. order in queue me excited until i received an email from the bike shop saying as my finance application had taken a day to check Giant had sold the bike to someone else ? is that even possible or is the shop telling porkies. Anyway i'm now back to looking again . Wanting to spend around £3300 max and size small as i'm 5ft 6 and around a 73 leg. some bikes iv'e looked at and are considering are Giant Trance all models although only the trance e+3 is available in small , Trek powerfly fs 5 , Haibike xduro allmtn 2.0 and 3.0. i'm leaning towards either the trance e+3 or one of the haibikes does anyone have either and how are you finding them. Thanks guys/girls .

I bought the Giant Stance E+1 , love it , great for the first EMTB, good spec for the money.
In hind-site I’d have paid a little more for the Trance and a bit more travel.

That said, I’m having a blast

Hi Mitch iv'e seen a few of your posts i agree the bike is one of the ones i keep coming back to . As it goes iv'e read a few problems people are having with the trances but don't see many people with problems on the stance. The stance is £3200 now everywhere and the haibike i like is the same both have pros but the haibike has more travel in the suspension . I'll be going to Dalby quite a bit so wondering if the extra travel will be needed mind you iv'e limited off road riding experience so won't be doing jumps just taking it easy until i build up my experience.

Depends on your build and weight my friend , I have to be honest, if another rider on another bike is faster up or faster down.
Good luck , it ain’t the bike, I’m 55 next week and I’ll do my best regardless of spend ££££ ???

I think to be honest whatever bike you get you will find it great at Dalby, go for best physical fit for you.
I like the Haibike as it suits my short legs and long back, Medium fits my 28inch legs and reach is decent length, and price was a big factor backed up by a great local shop. I can improve bits as I get funds and the travel is a nice help for the rougher bits over my Camber.
But I trialled a Cube (great), Scott (great but how many levers ?!), wife's Levo and few others, the Haibike was right bike at right time.

I just drove a fairly hard bargain with my local Giant store for a Trance E +2 Pro, the 2020 models are due soon so speak to your LBS and see what they can do on this years stock although not much remains now.

Having said all the above, I paid in full for mine and also bought a few extras as a sweetener for the shop (to show I am worth looking after), if you are hoping to get a discount AND a credit deal then best of luck, it will depend on their margins.

Thanks iv'e been to 3 bike shops so far one was a giant dealer, a trek dealer and Evans none of them seemed super keen to help find me a bike . The Giant dealer only had a medium stance in but that was too big so i'd be looking at a small i think . Really liked the trance e+2 and found a cracking deal online but only had a medium. Like you say not many places have stock left . I think i'm going to go out sunday to a few more shops including my nearest haibike dealer. part of me wishing i'd paid in full for the stance but i though i'd take advantage of the 0% apr while they had the offer on .

My Giant dealer had sold his last Trance+2 on display, but he agreed to order me one in, it took a week to arrive from central warehouse and set up. I only picked it up yesterday, I'm off out on it for the maiden voyage in about two hours from now.

I put mine on my Barclaycard for payment protection, I'll pay off the bill in one go before its due date to avoid interest fees (like having my very own interest-free banking service that also helps my credit rating).

....and as a bit of feedback about todays first ride: It was incredible.

I did about 23.5 miles of local trails, bridleways and single track thanks to one of the forum members local to me who knows the routes. It felt like a walk in the park, no more exertion to climb and not even a sweat. At rides end I still had 64% battery capacity remaining, I only used the lowest setting most of the time with the odd switch up to level 2 and 3 (out of 5.)

I am now in love with my EMTB and a massive fan of them. Get yourself one, you won't be sorry.

Iv'e been on Giants official website and it says they have no small trances apart from the e+3 only stances . pukmeister can i ask what size you got as most online dealers seem to have a load of large but no smalls at all.

Rich, I bought a medium which fits me absolutely perfectly. I'm no lightweight at 1.76m and 99Kg, I could honestly do with losing a few Kg but I am powerfully built for my height as I do a bit of lifting.

It was the last 2019 medium Trance E+2 bike left in Giants central warehouse. I have no idea if any more 2019 bikes are due in as the 2020 models have been announced in Italy already. I would suspect it is unlikely.

Hi guys i have a bike arriving tomorrow a focus jam 2 in small. Something kept drawing me back to the focus as i just love the look. I'll see how i go and what range i get as to weather i get a tech pak i probably will though. Pukmeister i checked all over for trances and pretty much everywhere is sold out now bar the larges and a couple of mediums. The original bikes i was looking at was Focus,Giant and canyon i really liked the canyon but didn't want to risk the horror stories with delivery and if anything goes wrong posting it back to germany. I also had a good long think of what i wanted to spend ect as i am saving up for a house so didn't want to go over what i am comfortable with. Ill get some pics up when i can i am just waiting on a steel lockup being manufactured and that's coming in two weeks so my first ride probably won't be for 3-4 weeks.
