Hi Guys,
I've just sold my Cube e-bike hardtail, and after a fully suspended replacement. I'm a reasonable rider (Ex 80's bmx racer :) and ex Moto-X rider) so i like to have a bit of fun on the rough descents, and have a bit of a play generally, I've sort of settled on either the Spesh Levo Comp, of the Giant Trance Pro 1, the Giant I have found for £3400 or the Spesh for £4100, but the Giant has nicer components and is £700 cheaper, I'm open to other ideas too. Thanks

I can't add anything to help the decision, but that is a great price for the Giant! The Trance E+1 Pro should be £4,300. If I had found that bike for the price I would 100% have paid the £200 more than I did for my Stance! Make sure its not the E+3 you are getting for that money as the components aren't nearly as good.

I ride a giant e trance 0 and it rips, changed the forks up to 160mm and has the same geometry as an SX now, rips around the alps, great bike, as i am sure the levo is, but £700 is also a pretty decent biking holiday somewhere!!!

The trance 1 has a great spec for the price in my opinion.

Its definitely a 1, £3439 delivered, it does seem to be the best spec bike i can find for the money, might just have to press the button!

I'm happy with my Thok Mig, is far more trail ready than my bros Giant full e sx pro wich is much more upright, and I guess enduro??! he struggles with confidence to attack things with the riding position, and the maestro suspension does twist a little with the torque from the motor when pressure is applied at standstill. Have not seen a Trance E+1 in the flesh but looks as if it could be similar? Prob worth a test ride of you can manage it?

I've actually gone different, I've bought a 2019 Cube Stereo 160 Race 500, i thought a very good real at £3019, 170mm forks and a 160mm rear fox shock, I have gone safe with a bosch motor!

Or he had until it turn out they had no stock.. he’s still looking

Bought this in the end, from Raceco very keen deal & it exists! I’ll be fitting some CL Brakes downhill spec brake pads as I import the car stuff, so have access ;)

please don't sicken me and tell me you picked that levo comp up super cheap. I'm loving my bike, but if the budget had been £5k Id have had a levo :)
It was less than the RRP on a Giant Trance 1, like i say very keen deal!

Please let us know how much time the battery lasts on average.
Will do, just had a ride around my yard at the unit and down the farm track, obviously its tight as a drum, and very smooth. Its first duties will be my Paddock bike at Silverstone Classic next weekend, but i will see if i can sneak out for an hour on Sunday on a couple of local trails as Im working on the garden all day this Saturday.

Me thinks you fellas are getting ripped off. The New Zealand RRP for the Giant Trance +1 Pro is NZD$7,299. (As I understand it, a pound = NZD$2.00)
I purchased for NZD$6,500.
A large retailer in Christchurch is now selling the same E-MTB for NZD$5,500.
Great specs and I am really pleased with it apart from the RideControlOne which needs Giant to fix the problem.

we always do in the UK! Right now, Giant list price for that bike is £4,299 (currently NZD$7946.95).

Out of interest what is it that is wrong with RideControlOne?

Well i know in Quebec, Canada first we have 15% taxes on retails products so a 6,000$ bike i will pay 6,900$ buying it new, imagine i resell at 3,000$ i lost 3,900$. Over that the value of our money fluctuates so when possible i buy used bikes. Look at the attack from Trek and Specialized heavier bikes, larger batteries more expensive, i am not shopping for a 2020 bike. At least we ride up to 32 km assist legally i guess 25 would be hard to get used to.

Purchased numerous new bikes over the years in Australia and IMHO in I think we pay less for bikes in general than the rest of the world.

Giant trance e+1 $5500aud here atm - got mine a little cheaper. Bargain I think is the trance e+3 which is currently $4500aud. No e+2 available.

Also comes down to supply and demand, which I think over in the uk / Europe ebikes are a little more popular but beginning to take off a little here. At the peak of a climb today with numerous decents 3/~15 bikes were emtb

Current levo lbs $7000aud atm. Same shop last year 2018 levo was $6000. Didn’t even bother to test ride

Mike

Take his pricing with a pinch of salt, the actual discount from the shop was great, but not to the level of the Trance, by itself...

PS: I'm not trying to be an arse, more to stop ppl calling raceco and expecting a ridiculous discount (just keen :D ) .

Trance is £4300 rrp.

Aha cool, yep you paid less than that, I was looking the last link for £3500 & didn't want ppl hassling Rich for a ridiculous amount of discount.
.. you do know this is Paul yeah?

I went to the Wyre Forest and had an absolute blast on the bike, it surpassed my expectations on performance in every way. The suspension was super compliant and the motor really powerful. In all we covered just under 22miles in muddy conditions, and lots of steep climbs, there was 15% of battery left and id say i the split was 70% on the lowest setting, 20% on the second, and 10% on full power mode.
I actually swapped for 20mins or so with my pal who was riding a 2017 Cube Team, and that felt very on off on the Bosch motor in EMTB mode, the Brose motor felt more accurate and sophisticated, the front on the Levo felt easier to pop up over roots and holes, and he was so impressed he's going to be out on one next time!! :)

Good price dude. Pommy money is like $1.80 these days - just bought a cheap set of wheels to set up for road use from CRC.
Good prince on that Trance. How are you enjoying it?

..but he could have been out on it yesterday, if it wasn't muddy :ROFLMAO:
Taz is a tart :giggle:

22miles & 2800ft of climbing, which was a lot more fun without waiting for the manual bikes (sorry Sean), pity the weather/conditions had turned to shit.
