Hi, I have a Haibike AllMtn 11. Low mileage. It’s just too heavy for me. I cannot put it on roof rack and I have to dismantle it to get it in the car.

One of the riders in my group has one of these and its the heaviest bike by far. She can barely pick it up off the ground.

But ebikes (with current technology) are never a good match with roofracks - better with a tow bar rack.

@johnc has a car that I always thought was a van with windows. He has removed the rear seats and although I accept that its a car, it sure looks like a van. Get one of them. You will have to ask him what it is.

Yes there are workarounds but there are really only 2 solutions. The best is a van but probably the most achieveable for those that need to keep their existing car is to. get a towball fitted and then buy a decent tow ball mounted bike carrier. If the bike carrier is the only intended use of the towball you can get the removeable version .......although you would also be ok using it for a small trailer. .......and that extra functionality may help to justify the cost.
