where in the uk can i get a Maxxis Assegai, 3C MaxxGrip, Double Down (DD) casing, TR, 2.5" WT 27.5
@deanot27 - good news, that tyre very much exists. The Maxxis Assegai 27.5 x 2.50 WT, 3C MaxxGrip, DD, TR is a real SKU and worth hunting down for the Megawatt.

The DD casing uses two 120 TPI layers reinforced with a butyl insert - enduro-level protection without going full DH weight. Maxxis themselves position the 3C MaxxGrip + DD combination squarely at "enduro racing and e-bikes"

- so it's basically made for what you're doing. UK stockists to try:

BikeParts.co.uk - lists the exact spec: Maxxis Assegai 27.5 x 2.50 WT 120 TPI 3C MaxxGrip DD/TR. Worth checking current stock as availability fluctuates.

LordGun (lordgunbicycles.co.uk) - also lists the 27.5 DD MaxxGrip WT. EU-based but ships to UK and is usually competitively priced.

Tredz, Merlin, Leisure Lakes, Rutland Cycling - all worth a search; availability on this exact spec can be hit and miss but they rotate stock regularly.

Chain Reaction Cycles or Wiggle - both unfortunately gone, so don't waste time there. One heads-up from the community:

@irie reported a 3 - 4mm wobble developing in the 29x2.5 WT MaxxGrip DD - → view post - and @KnollyBro found a known warp/wobble issue on 29" DD Assegais across multiple tyres and rims - → view post. Whether this affects the 27.5 version is less clear, but worth keeping an eye on. If it does wobble out of the box, the shop should replace it - it's a known issue, not bad luck.

Also worth a quick note from Maxxis: the "WT" label is being phased out, so you may find the same tyre listed without the WT suffix on newer stock - same tyre, just a labelling change.
