Had a call on Friday to say an Email Will come through on 26th(AU) about new bikes.
No more information but Are they looking at replacing the Rail+ already?? We've sold Heaps of these and people are still asking for them despite the Avinox being there

Hopefully not DJI as Based on our customers I dont think they are Wanting to send their money to the Chinese and support the power wars.(not my opinion, except im not a fan of power wars either)

Must be to do with the speculated TQ motor that should be announced at EuroBike this week.

Funny, I was just thinking today that it seems like Trek is due for something. I’d be shocked if it was DJI, if the new TW motor rumor is true my money would be on that. If they do get something in the 90 range that should be interesting, possibly an SL size/weight motor with what used to be full power.

Ah yes, I could see it being the TQ. We usually get Early photo's or Spy shots but nothing at the moment. A really lightweight TQ90(ish) would sell Well here.
I know a few who would be straight on it, me included - Im not fit at all... probably overweight and I find the Current Torque/watts over the top, My Rail has the 120nm Update but none of my modes are set above 90nm with only turbo having 750w, rest are 600w.

Sure I dont get to the top as fast as the avinox Guys But I also have much more battery left over(I've since swapped down the 600wh and we both run out similar times lol)

Me too. But it seems that we have to wait (or these are all rumours). At the Eurobike TQ has not published any new motors until yet.

I can tell you that I tried to buy the EX Plus 9.7 for my girlfriend in a size small and it was heavily discounted and I didn't buy it about 3 days ago and now it's not available.
I regret not pulling the trigger. Basically the new price was less than I'm seeing comparable bikes for used.

The 9.7 was a rocking deal. Bad that you missed out.

But perhaps you'll have the last laugh if the Fuel+ is upgraded to a HPR90? We didn't get a Eurobike announcement, but considering Trek was the launch partner for TQ and that Trek tends to release/update the Fuel+ in July it is still very possible that these "new bikes" email is related to a updated TQ Fuel+.

I may be a little sad I didn't wait but given I got my bike a month ago and I'm really enjoying it, I'll say my decision is still good. Who knows, perhaps us HPR60 folks will have an upgrade path like the HPR50 people did when the 60 came out?

The small in Lichen Green/Keswick Green Splatter is still available online.
As a matter of interest, what was the % discount?
$2,700.02 off - a 31% discount.

$8,699.99 discounted to $5,999.97. See the link above.

I bough the green is size large a couple weeks before the sale and once I found out about it I was able to get a refund for the difference + sales tax from Trek which was a nice surprise as I was still in the 30 day return window. I then spent that on massive upgrades to the bike ;)

That's a big discount, but interesting that only the EX 9.7 model is discounted across the whole range. That doesn't suggest that there's something going on or something new arriving that impacts the Fuel+ model in general.

Yah, the size small just came back in stock this morning and I already bought it.

It's $6K, normal was $8.7K. Also, my local electric company provider provides a $600 rebate so that's $5400, for a new CF e-bike with what I'd consider an ideal trail bike motor, especially for a small person. I could find nothing used at even close to the price. Used Levo SL's motor systems are not even close and the bikes cost about the same.

The small is a mullet as well which is a total win in my book. Trek makes fantastic and underrated bikes. The travel is actually a 145/ 150 in a mullet, so really an ideal trail bike for a small female to trail ride imo.

Also matches my green Wild so I guess that's cool.

This build is a little chunky at around 43.5#s with the cheap parts but I might WW it and get it to about 40#s. I think for such a small rider, that a set of Alibaba CF wheels would hold up fine, but would they ride brittle?

How long do you intend to keep it?

Probably years. Whether I marry this woman or end up dating again, they all ask to go riding with me and I never have a bike that fits and none of them can pedal really strongly anyways. A light duty e-bike like this is a really good fit, I feel. It won't matter to them if it's outdated and in 4-5 years I think it'll still be worth $3.5K or so still. Heck, I might end up owning it 10 years. Even if an Avinox was just as light, that sort of power could be dangerous to an inexperienced user and also completely unnecessary.

The value is pretty amazing. I've been shopping for used bikes and e-bikes and was looking at a very nice SB130 and the woman has $13K in it! Yes it's a higher end build but reality is that CF wheels and the like just don't matter as much on an e-bike.

Then its worth WW'ing the bike (y)

Im not saying anything directly as could lose my job(and yes I'm paid well lol)
But.... It's a direct and awesome response to Amflow(yes to amflow, not any other brand :sneaky:)

If anyone is looking at an amflow or avinox bike..... I would wait, big industry is going to hit back, hard.

Approx announcement date?

That makes sense. They need to modernize their lineup, especially being a large bike company. Looking forward to it.

I can't speak to the reliability of this info so you know, grain of salt. But my local trek dealer here in Aus told me there is something coming soon in the Fuel lineup, 120nm
:sneaky: :sneaky: Personally I would call it "what avinox hoped it could be"
I think It will have Brands who jumped early to avinox dump that and go with the 'new updated system' - nothing on the market currently compares to what Trek's got coming.
It seems the Aus Dealers are keen to 'kinda' get the word out to hold some off from avinox regrets :ROFLMAO:

Wont be getting more info out of me though lol

As I read this and think of a TQ HPR120 (are we really thinking it is this - that’s so much more than I was thinking it would be) I’m thinking holy shit!

I have to not be sad over buying my Fuel+ last month. I have to chant to myself “I love the bike I got… I love the bike I got… I love the bike I got”. 🤣

I'd still get a lighter bike over power I do not need or want really. If the motor weighs the same and the bike weighs the same, then sure, I'll take it.
I'm the same.
Trek bikes have gotten quite porky recently - so I'm interested to see what they have next. Ive bought a few Treks from my local Trek Dealers, but prices (and weights) are getting uncompetitive.

100% agree. My Avinox powered bike is probably detuned down to 35-60% in the modes I use on trail. In the rare instances I try to get off the ground, I really feel that 50lbs. I do use the full power Class 3 on roads though, which is great. But I'd give that up for a lower system weight.

This is why I bought the slash+ With the tq motor. If I had an avinox bike (or bosch for that matter) I'd need to de tune it down to the same power level as the tq in order to get the range I want, but the bike would still be heavier than one with the tq system.

And also the fact that the tq can run just on the range extender battery and the range extender is small enough to be allowed on aeroplanes means I can take th ebike abroad easily.

I guess most people are happy to sacrifice the weightsaving of the tq for the flexibility to have more power though, and I understand why they would.
