Authorities are waking up...

I find it humorous how much of our trail access is dictated in many instances by the horse people. There are many more people riding bikes but the horse people hold the power. Possibly the best examples of this is in Marin County CA. They don't care about motors, they just want to gate keep the trails for themselves. I don't think motors make this worse because there is already limited access. Sad.

YES ! When will regulators wake up and realise there is a beast out there that is completely unregulated -
No speed limits, no license, no tax, no registration - Go anywhere and tear up the tracks and trails.

3x the rated power of an Avinox 746W Vs 250W
8x the peak power - 11,000W Vs 1,500W

Why aren't they clamping down on this ?

Ban horses NOW !

Be careful. The Horse people are easily startled but they will soon be back and in greater numbers.

You really don’t want the horse lobby coming after you, with their firm thighs, tight jackets and riding crops!

Oh wait, maybe you do?! 🤔🤣

As you can see from the post below from today. Going down your anti-tampering path. There are many Motors where tampering is considered easy. So you are going to get every EMTB outlawed in the UK.

You are not helping. You need to let this go.
The changes made to my Shimano ep801 motor bumped the power and wattage to a standard ep801 motor, nothing above and beyond that. That means a max 600w and 85nm

Yes, I answered that already. Within the same screen where you made those changes, was the ability to change region.

If it moves
Humans will make it faster

If it’s speed restricted
A human will de-restrict

If it’s easy
A human will complicate

If we say not allowed
Humans will wait till we aren’t looking

There’s a problem.
Unfortunately it’s not fixable without enough tall bridges and short piers.

Humans will fuck it all up. It’s the only thing we have a perfect record for. Fucking shit up.

I see a time, where you have to move to the area that allows, whatever human hobbies you take part in.
Leaving behind the areas we think we love, to rot. Ran into the ground by reactive, vanilla, law making, walking hemmoroids.

If my city says no mountain biking, E or otherwise. I simply leave……..
End of story.
Popular opinion, I see, but it's contrary to reality of things.

Regulations exist everywhere to protect the public interest. They're not always easy to write, enforce, or adapt to new situations, but that doesn't mean they don't work.

Let me note that most of our daily behavior is shaped by laws and regulations, often without us even noticing. Since a few decades you wear a seat belt when driving, you don't smoke in the office (something that was once perfectly normal). You don't drive at 180 km/h on the motorway every time you get behind the wheel, and you drive to the right (the left in some countries). This is just because of regulations enforcement.

Of course, some people ignore the rules, some people cause harm, and others are fined or incarcerated as a consequence of that. But exceptions don't invalidate the existence of the rules. This happen continuously, every day, every time of the day without people realizing.

My point was simply that adapting regulations to new technologies or new situations is technically and legally difficult, and that it has always been that way. That's very different from claiming that regulations are useless or cannot be enforced.
