Whyte Karve Evo

Whyte have said it's going to me be 24-25kg, and dealer I talked to who have one say it's 24.1kg.

I would need to swap out the suspension for coil , so that would make it heavier too.

Where did you see Whyte say 24-25? All I’ve seen so far is 23.9. Very similar numbers tbf, but 25kg is quite heavy compared to the other Avinox bikes.

I don’t know why they don’t come out and release more info on these bikes. They must know the weight already, makes me suspicious it could be closer to 25kg and they don’t want people who’ve reserved their bikes to potentially cancel and look elsewhere.

Help! I can get hold of the Karve RS in XL for September this year. I used AI to change the fork, shox and sram GX axs derailer to suit me. I ride a Specialized Kenevo S5 with 29” and Fox factory 38 so really close on geo. What does everyone think? Should I wait for the Karve Evo RS next year or customise the RS (I do prefer the paint on the Evo RS).

You could swap the 800wh battery for the 600wh battery to save 870gms. Not for me, I would rather have the range of the 800wh battery

I didn’t realise there was a 600wh battery option on the karve? Same as yourself, bigger days are more appealing that a lighter bike.

Shame we can’t get the 180/180 & 800wh for around 22kg at this price point.

I’m coming from an AL levo with zeb ultimate 170, so it’ll probably be a similar weight.

It’d be nice to know the frame weight. Are there any 180mm bikes at that weight?

Just reading about the new Nomad frame with shock is c3.2kg. The new suspension design saved 80g and there’s about 200g between a C and the fancier CC frame. Ie if you want to save kg it’s very expensive build kit or smaller battery - there’s no scope to do it in the frame.

there probably isn’t one on the market yet to be fair, probably wishful thinking on my part. Could shave a few hundred grams off here & there but it would push the end price up and would we really notice it?

I’m hopeful the evo RSX is going to be around the 23 - 24kg weight. Time will tell.

It’s compatible with a 600wh not option yet. Could be if they make a Works version?
Yes, you can use the FS600 (600Wh) fixed internal battery safely if you wanted a smaller battery capacity and lower overall bike weight

My local shop said they are getting some customers evo Rsx arriving in the next couple of weeks. Already sold but are going to ring me so I can pop in and have look.
Will probably end up buying one but want to see one in the flesh first.

Would be great if they could put a Evo RSx on a bike scales? And what size they are completely stock?

Where is your local shop? I’ve got my name down for the first deliveries in my LBS. They’re expecting the first delivery in August, sooner would be a nice surprise.

I bought mine from Escape Bike Shop in Ingleton, they recently told me delivery was end June early July as Whyte had said they had received the first delivery of the motors and just needed to build the bikes and PDI them. Hopefully this is accurate as i have sold my Kenevo and now have no bike. My main concern is around the colour of the zeb as most of the promotional material points to red which looks shite against the darker blue, not the lighter blue originally shown on the whyte site, but the Whyte official site still states the zeb will be black, don't want the red version as aesthetically it doesn't work with the new promotional materials blue bikes I have seen. If this is the case I think its poor from Whyte as looks do matter, maybe not the highest criteria for buying a bike, but no one wants an ugly bike.

I’d prefer the black forks also, but I don’t hate the red. I’ll fire some red hope parts on there & roll with it

I have ordered a number of Burgtec upgrades in the gold colourway as I thought the Zeb was going to be black as stated on the Whyte official site, if it turns out to be red they will look horrendous, so im concerned and can't seem to get a straight answer from either as to exactly what colour zeb will be when delivered, coupled to still not being sure what the weight of the bike will be is worrying, I think its poor from Whyte and im questioning my decision to shift from Specialized to Whyte especially in light of the new Levo Evo being released
