thats how i maxed my ep6 wattage across all PASs. Totally made a difference..Orbea replied to my email and basically flat out denied this was an authorised thing
The FB guy says he'll get back in touch after he gets it done next week. Maybe his "official dealer" is offering to unlock it via EMAX and he doesn't realise.

are you using the 4.3.0 4.3.1 or the 4.4.1 firmware? To be honest I'm happy with the stock performance, but emax is maybe something I'll consider when the warranty has expired.

I think I'm still on whatever my 2023 bike came with
I'm not sure if I can go to later firmware at home with my phone amd shimano E tube app or if I need to go to a dealer?
but I think I want to go to 4.4.1 - after seeing this thread https://www.emtbforums.com/threads/firmware-update-4-3-0.40441/
also are you using the overrun feature? - not sure if I want it, but a tidge might be ok
I do feel like a wee bit more oomph when technical climbing might be good...
cool, yeah I have a dealer near me - will give em a bell - cheersI'm not near the bike to connect to it at the moment, but I only got it January so I assume it's running the latest F/W as it has all the "new" features like overrun. It's good when you need to clear something like rocks that might catch a pedal on full crank rotation, just give it a half crank and the bike will get you over/through. I only have it on the middle setting though, as on the highest it's a bit too keen.
Definitely worth visiting your nearest dealer to get the update if it's not appearing in the app.
I've unlocked mine with the free PC version of EMax. I don't see how it would affect the warranty as all it is doing is allowing the standard Shimano settings. To be honest I'm happy with the stock performance, but emax is maybe something I'll consider when the warranty has expired.

Even better, I've not got two profiles. One is the Orbea RS+ which gives me about 1600m of vertical on Trail (which is 42nm/250w) and a 'Max' setting which gives the full 600w (using the fine adjust mode which you can delimit the power on without affecting the standard modes) . That still gives me over 1200m of climbing and I can keep up with full fat bikes
(2025 rise with 630wh battery)
maybe. It's been an interesting reminder on the relationship between power and torque for me. The RS+ already had 85nm torque.I think Shimano see it as "tampering" if you use third party software, regardless of what you're trying to achieve. I wouldn't want to give them an opportunity to be nit-picky over a warranty claim if they decide to go through the log files.
I rarely find myself using the bike above 45nm unless something is mega steep, so I don't feel the need to change anything at the moment... although I do hate bouncing off the 15.5mph speed limit so that will get changed to 20mph when my warranty is out.
As for the Facebook guy I mentioned in my original post, he did eventually get back to me and it turns out his LBS was speaking shit... it wasn't an official thing at all, it was eMax![]()
ah right - think I need to work out how the overrun worksI'm not near the bike to connect to it at the moment, but I only got it January so I assume it's running the latest F/W as it has all the "new" features like overrun.
