This is not a reflection of the bikes but the company. This is my story.
At the beginning of May i decidied to order my PX Pro from the AmFlow website as there was none available in stores around Australia anywhere and the expected delivery date changes every day to constantly be 6 weeks till delivery (see attached screenshot from today).
2 weeks after I paid AmFlow IN FULL $14000, i managed to find a dealer that managed to get a PX Pro in my size. So I promptly requested a refund via the AmFlow web site and within 30 minutes my order was changed to “Refund Processed”, and the fine print said it could take between 7 and 14 business days. (Which is crap as banks in Australia dont hold onto your money for any reason and I was told IF it was sent it would be in my account by the next business day)
Anyway, I waited the full 14 business days and then the emails started. First AmFlow kept telling me to chase my bank as that’s where the hold up is. Then after another week they finally admitted to an internal glitch that caused the initial refund not to go through.
So for the past 3 weeks AmFlow keep stating that the refund has been made but still nothing in my account.
I have been advised by retail people that the Chinese are terrible to deal with when it comes to money, but I won’t go into those issues.
My issue is I paid $14k for a bike and these bastards won’t give me a refund, so, ironically, I can go and buy an AmFlow.
Be warned, just wait till they are in stock and buy from your local bike shop, although I have heard that with a lot of other brands moving to the Avinox drive system Australia won’t see any bulk new bikes arrive until 2027.
I thought I was doing the smart thing and buying direct like I have done with other high end bikes.
You have been warned.

Yeah, buying directly from Amflow or directly from a Chinese company is something I would never do....no matter what.

Mmmmm well unfortunately it looks like I’m not getting my $14000 back and I have no other option but to go public and warn other people. But I will be happy to delete this post when the money is refunded

This is monkey Business, go to the Press and state your case, also contact consumer watch.
That is below everything, I am happy I never considered anything from Amflow or DJI e.g. Avinox.
They should pay you Interest on this money which is with them till now!

Whyyyyyyyy. Your comment about dealing with the Chinese can easily be addressed by paying with PayPal or credit cards. I have never had issues with any Chinese company by doing that.
Yeah it’s all easy in hindsight but would have and should have don’t get me my money back.

No direct payment to account
Why do people do this, when the default option on the Australian Amflow website is Paypal ? Are you wanting issues ? I have never not used Paypal with Chinese retailers, and have never had a problem.

When they know that Paypal will charge them if they don't either deliver the product, or refund the money. They always do the right thing.

Anyway. The message is "Be Warned" or "Use Paypal and Relax".

Doing the smart thing with a direct payment, instead of Paypal ??? That was the exact opposite of smart.

Again, would have and should have means shit to me now

Keep us posted. Amflow / DJI aren't some rinky dink company - they'll sort it out but it sounds like its gotten stuck in the process somewhere.

It may be because you paid by bank that is causing the issue - there are more checks that need to take place for international bank transfers than a simple card refund. Not your fault, of course - there should be better communication.

Yeah cheers for that, they have admitted that they has been a major internal glitch so I have no doubt that I will get my money back but maybe being Chinese there are a few more things that need to happen on a government level before they can send money overseas.
I was wondering if AmFlow was a big company and I guess it is. For sure I should have moved some money around and paid via PayPal but at the time I was committed to the direct purchase.

Ive really changed my mind on Amflow. I keep hearing horror stories about them. Amflow better get there stuff straightened out. Now that there are other bikes with Avinox motors, I have a feeling Amflow will lose a lot of business.

Yes I agree that everyone will catch up and crap like this is not good for them, even though I should have paid by PayPal or credit card.

They’re going to get your money back man. Amflow is fine and isn’t going to screw you out of $14k. Most likely china->US bank nuances. You got impatient, bypassed your local dealer, then changed your mind. Now you just gotta be patient on the refund but it will happen

Amflow gets a bad rep but you dig further into most of the issues and see it isn’t on them. Few examples are some guy blasting Amflow on Facebook amflow groups for a frame crack and we found out he got his bike off alibaba and was expecting Amflow to warranty it. Another guy changed his shock and the yoke scratched the frame which was very obvious and he was claiming frame crack. Another guy had a full image where he had a rock bash and people were flaming him for saying it cracked by basically just looking at it, but then he deleted that and put a closer image with the rock debris cleaned off so you couldn’t tell and still proceeded to discredit amflow. Another guy blamed amflow when he improperly assembled his bike and got a chain rash on the frame because of it. Just stuff I’ve seen on the fb groups which lead to people just seeing amflow = bad without looking into it.

Not to say there won’t be issues with the bikes and company for some people, but overall you aren’t going to lose your $14k and you’re fine buying an amflow. Go on their site and message them, they respond immediately even after hours on their messenger.

What’d they dm you on here? What other company does that? I even posted an issue on the fb group and they messengered me right away and we resolved the issue (o ring on the axle). I don’t have an amflow anymore but I do think they’re pretty solid bikes despite all the hate for them.

Jesus dude, stop bashing Amflow just because they can't keep up with your schizophrenic purchasing behavior. You keep buying and cancelling then buying and cancelling, all while paying in the most bizarre way possible (carrier pigeon?). How did you even do that? Of course they're going to have trouble getting the pigeon to return to your house, what did you honestly expect?

For a few hours your story had a sliver of merit until Amflow promptly posted here that they were taking care of it - to which you responded a mere 25 minutes later "looks like I’m not getting my $14000 back and I have no other option but to go public and warn other people".

I am certain that they told you no such thing and are simply trying their best to deal with your pigeon. Settle down, let them try to figure out how to train the pigeon, they're a huge multinational corporation and they're going to make things right with even the most difficult of customers, but they're going to struggle a little to meet your unusual request.

Notice that this member has somehow only commented on Amflow threads here. Apply a grain of salt to their comments as we know DJI loves to perpetrate faux propaganda. 🤖

You too @Powerslider. Watch that you don't slide right off your Taiwanese high horse as the distinction between China and Taiwan might vanish before you even hit the ground. And while communism, propaganda, and the systematic oppression of the Uyghurs are issues that the entire world should be concerned about, no American is in any position to judge the political system or genocidal actions of any other nation these days, especially on a mountain biking forum.

It is very nice to see @Amflow_Support appear on the forum again! :) (y) In 2024 and 2025 I know many users on this site very much appreciated seeing such great responsiveness on the Amflow support thread (https://www.emtbforums.com/threads/amflow-customer-support-team-is-here!amflow-support-questions-only-please.40664/page-42), which indicated your customer service was better than a lot of established bike companies, but then you kind of disappeared months ago, with no further replies to direct questions. Is this post an indication that Amflow will be re-engaging with the emtb forum?

Yeah I agree 100% just pisses me off they approved my refund on day one that I canceled, then proceeded to tell me the hold up is with my bank. It wasn’t until I got the fella from the shop I bought my bike from on the case that he started chasing them they admitted to there being an internal glitch.
I know it will happen but they just made me out to be the problem for weeks before fessing up.
I still think they are the best bike by a country mile AT THE MOMENT, but this has left a sour taste in my mouth.

I wouldn’t say best bike lol but it’s super sick and you’re gonna be happy with it. Glad you were able to get one. I would be a little bummed too but you’ll for sure get it back, hopefully soon.

Just a comparison, my brother recently purchased a Santa Cruz V10 from Jenson in US. He payed by direct deposit PLUS as they would not ship to Australia he got one of those “my US mailbox” address things. So he paid for the bike, it was shipped to Florida to his US address then they shipped to Australia all without a hitch. Then Jenson send him a $200 US voucher to use in their store as a thank you.
Admittedly he did not cancel his order but that’s the difference dealing with the US.

Nah, don't really agree. Either your scenario or his could have easily gone completely the opposite way and you'd be here saying Santa Cruz are rubbish. It was just a circumstance of fate and miscommunication really. It'll get sorted i'm sure.
